That seems sarcastic. Do I need to post pictures of 50 foot dongs to get you out of this mood? Or post Iron Sheik tweets?

Fortunately I'm actually relatively happy due to the recent return of the American.

You don't want old saggy on old glory.

Yet literally the most difficult thing to pull off. Getting a bale is a one in ten thousand player thing.
Not to mention it took a couple of years before Bale started to become effective for us.

I think we're getting a lot better at picking up young talent on the regular. Bale is certainly a one in a million type of player, but the likes of Sandro are also top players and I would settle for a couple of breakthrough talents coming good this season. I don't think we necessarily need a worldy, just a couple of top quality players who fit into the system.

Fuck no. Drogba was a cheating bastard who spent too much time on the floor.

Ability wise, absolutely but without the antics please. Same can be said of Suarez really. I want someone with those qualities who isn't a dick please.
you can call it antics, acting, cheating, all i know is he bullied defenders and scored goals, on bennyT he scores goals, brute of physical presence and if that can occupy opposition defenders and hold up play, we have other players to score goals. Remembering we still have other players that can still score goals.

one thing we missed last season wasn't just a goal scoring striker bur someone to hold up play considering our formation we played, and bennyT has that, also he has an eye for goals.

Trouble is, Liverpool selling their best player is what will guarantee Benteke a game there.

True that, but if he continues where he left off from last season and Adebayor is more of the same - he'll be first choice for us as well.

Villa fans on talksport and on line are gutted about benteke leaving , that's a good sign on how good benteke is imo , would love him in the lillywhite next season

I'm really not keen on the idea of Benteke. I think he's too clumsy and struggles when he's not given space - ideal for a mid-table side, but not good for one that will dominate midfield/camp in our opponent's half like we will.

I also think Benteke would be our only forward signing - i.e. the trade off will be Dempsey and Siggy remaining our left side options.

For me Leandro + Bernard for £15m a piece makes an awful lot more sense than £28m on Kenwyne Benteke.

Nothing like Kenwyne Jones...another lazy assumption. I really wonder how many people have actually watched Benteke for more than just the odd ten minutes on the MOTD.

for one, bernard will cost more than £15m. for two, what has damiao actually done to command a £15m+ fee? thirdly, benteke has only been outscored by messi and ronaldo this calendar year. lastly, kenwyne jones' best goalscoring season to date is 10 goals so that's a crap comparison.

Bang on.

Some of you need to actually watch him (Benteke)
Makes our pair look a right pair...

His all round game is good too, link up play, hold up play, back to goal and running towards goal, can pass (not just way your facing 10 yard passes either) He can strike a ball and place/finish.

We currently have two strikers who's limitations define them more than their positives.

I would be happy if he was to be our record signing.

You are not Belgium's first choice striker without something about you in this current crop of players (and at only 22)

Not totally sold on Benteke, it's hard to judge a player on one season, even if it was on a bad side. Normally a striker will have a decent first season as he is an unknown commodity, it's the second season were you really see if he is any good as teams will know all about him. Plus didn't score any of his goals against Man U, Man City, Arsenal or Spurs home or away and only one against Chelsea. 15 million would be a decent price to start at but not a lot more than that.

Another season and he'll be worth north of 30 million. The guy is a beast of a player.
