It's not right to suggest that Villa bottled it just because he chose to stay in Spain (other factors too) and not uproot his young family. You just come across as bitter.

Is not like he's moving from Barca to Getafe .

I cant quite get my head around why there is mass panic. We have just accrued our best points tally itin the premiership and the best team since I have supported them (1980's).

A new striker would be great, but overall we didn't create a great deal for the forwards. In my opinion we need to improve on this, losing Luka and Rafa really hurt us.

If we started the season with the current squad, with Sandro and Kaboom getting back to fitness is such a disaster?. Getting improvement out of Holtby and Dembele in the final third is equally important as bringing in new faces.

Boo-hoo a transfer didn't happen, it's made me cry and my friend is really angry he just punched a wall and his hand hurts and its all Daniel Levy's fault.

And even with deadline day being so far away, it's not the fucking point. We never have our shit together in time for the season starting and waste time on on unachievable targets.

There won't be too many top class strikers with contracts running out so we'll have to pay big money, I can't see that going down easily either.

Jesus, if you're going to get that worked up over missing out on a target, you're better off avoiding the whole transfer forum.

I really don't get why so many people are getting their collective y-fronts in a twist about Villa? The man had offers, he chose one. He decided to stay in his nice , warm home country for the last few years of his career. A safer option where he doesn't have to adapt and that will give him the best chance of being in the world cup squad/team. We move on.

Also, we have just pulled off a major coup in signing Paulinho for a record transfer fee, we have apparently got other good deals in the pipeline, have kept Bale and AVB, have recruited Baldini, Kaboul is in training, Sandro is almost fit, we look as strong as we have ina generation. ALL of t,his is down to Levy, ALL of it. Yet people feel the need to have a major hissy fit every time something doesn't go according to plan.

We will pursue other targets, we will probably end up getting one.

Caim the f**k down you biatches!
Since I've been on here Levy has always had deals in the pipeline,e.g Leandro, Downing, Rivaldo etc etc. When Levy pulls off a deal people like me are expected to get down on our knees and worship the ground he walks on, but when something goes wrong, it's not his fault, it's always someone else's.

Mofo has been chasing a dude who isn't even in the Brazil team for 3 years and it's fucked us up. As for Baldini, AVB wanted Baldini when he joined the club but as usual Levy was late recruiting him as well.
So I'll tell you what, I'll be a biatch and keep complaining about the stupid things that Levy does because there are enough people around to stroke his ego already, I won't be doing the same.

I was always of the understanding that Soldado was option B.

But in light of things, what do I know ?

POTL speaking some sense in that ITK. It is a shame. I do believe that Villa bottled it. In any case, missed targets means more ITK we can drape our tesicles over ;)

Have we made signings? Yes
Have we failed in signings? Yes

Does levy have responsibility for both? Partly yes.

Look on any teams board and people are pissed off that they didn't sign a player.

Marrid bale,
chelsea cavani
city falcao

Do we have to spend every day moaning about it? We got pauly and missed out on villa. Move on.

Remember the time we tried to sign Llorente etc and they didn't want to leave Spain either, or come to Spurs? It almost seemed like a bullshit bid at the time. This all has a familiarity about it that is worrying.

How long have we needed a top class centre forward now/goals from the side?

We've also got the first murmurings from JJ about our sales possibly having issues (again), stinky stinky familiarity.

In the next couple of weeks it'll be "have to sell before we buy" or something.

sorry but identifying a forward should have been done last year and year before etc to now again to be scrambling around is a joke. I cannot sit and defend levy on this issue its beyond neglect now. As for the benteke rumours call me cynical but we couldnt raise above 5m for a world class striker and were expected to believe we are now in the market for a 20m+ striker erm ok..............

I think you 3 should all consider having it written into your will that Levy has tobe a pallbearer at your funerals just so you get the twisted satisfaction of him letting you down one more time

Yep, we're all stroking his ego cos all he does is log in here and bask in the praise of us lot.
More reactionary bollocks.

Can we have a moratorium on Levy bashing, say 10.30?

Jesus, if you're going to get that worked up over missing out on a target, you're better off avoiding the whole transfer forum.

It's the same thing over and over again for numerous windows. Players who don't want to come, players who want CL, players who want more than we can afford to pay them. This is for critical positions in the side, scoring goals is an issue. Without Bale turning superhuman and smacking them in all over the place we'd have been deep in shit last year.

We're still missing creativity which I felt Villa could have remedied slightly too, it's the same mistakes over and over again.

If the targets are unrealistic we need to stop wasting time, there have been far too many instances of this and then next thing you know, we've dropped points in the first 2 games and it's live from Spurs Lodge praying the fax machine holds up so we can sign another Clint/Pienaar etc who are going cheap and we're a bit desperate.

How many players did we sign in those windows?
