Caulker didn't impress and it was a good price so we took it

This is why these player swap deals never happen. It's not like in American sports where the player usually has no choice. Too bad about Coentrao, but Di Maria can fuck right off. I'd rather we signed Nani than that piece of shit Di Maria and I can't stand Nani.

and it's what folks have been saying, 85 million or whatever it is looks good but a club of our position can't use it to buy the highest calibre players. Their Clubs might accept but the players themselves probably don't fancy playing for a team in Europa who sells off its best players

I'd like for JJ to clarify if his 3 top class signings includes Soldado? If so, that means we'd perhaps add a left back and a winger, and that'd be all the business we'd do? I'm not sure we'd be better off selling Bale and just bringing Coentrao and Lamela. In fact, I think we'd be weaker than if we just stood pat.

I am at the MK Dons v Tottenham XI and before KO spoke to a friend closely associated with the club and he said Di Maria is a real possibility on the deal. But the big problem is Real value him at £40m where as we are £15m short of that. Also been told Levy had named his price and Real have 1 week to comply as we want to get business done soon if Bale goes. Club not bothered about teams hiking prices, they do that anyway with us! Levy & Franco know where players are and what it will take to get them! This is second hand ITK from an ex player, but not from a BS'er.
But pretty much everyone is resigned to Bale going, even joking about sending the young lad who looks like him to complete the deal!
