That seems to suggest that rather than getting a world record fee, we'd get players from Madrid instead..?

Jese would be golden. But I honestly think the reason they are down to so few strikers and might still sell Benzema is because they are going to make him the man. Just a gut feeling.

But if they are stupid (and they are) then we should so try to use our "special relationship" to pry him out of their worthless mitts.

To be honest, I'm wary of signing Spanish players, especially young Spanish players who started their careers off at Madrid or Barca because should they turn out to be any good you can bet that those 2 clubs will come and get them back

I think the cat was out of the bag when we replicated the exact 'deal on' 'deal off' 'deal on again' 'oops problem with payment' Moutinho debacle a few months later with Leandro. Seemed clear as day to me that both of those deals collapsed through design on our part.

If we don't bring in proper replacements for Bale the cat won't just be out of the bag, it will be all up in our faces scratching our eyes out, as that will be the only way for people to still not see what is happening.
