Do you have a source for that? Because the only reference I could find to how much he earns when I looked was that he's on €5m a year - a far cry from 200k (sterling or Euros) a week!

I thought it was mooted at the time, not arsed either way though to be honest, I don't see him as a realistic option. He's not going to want to take a pay cut either way, so even if he's only on £100k-£150k we don't exactly chuck that around willy nilly.

God it's become dull here.

I blame the length of the Soldado deal and the Bale saga.

We really need a new target to obsess over.

Levy is in America to spend time with his family - we know his wife lives out there and we know she has recently been seriously ill - we've also had ITK previously about Levy getting Baldini in (and this relates back to one of the reasons why we got AVB in as a head coach, rather than replace Redknapp with another Manager) in order to take some of Daniels workload away, partly so that he can try and spend a little time with his family now and again.

It all makes sense, Levy is one of those blokes who wants to do everything himself and perhaps the events of the last year in his personal life have encouraged him to finally take a small step back and do some delegating. Franco can sort whatever we need sorting, Levy is only a phone call away.

Fucking hell I hope we announce Soldado soon though.

So with one month of the transfer window left we have no ITK on anyone moving bar Ade and that seems to be subject to their court case.

We have no ITK on buying anyone aside from Soldado.

Strangely quiet.

The Bale talk is of no interest to me, IMHO nobody has a clue whats going on in this regard, I'm not sure Bale does let alone anyone else, I see him staying anyhow.

I just hope that the delay with Soldado isnt because he (Soldado himself) has concerns about us losing our star player. . which ultimately ..lets be realistic ..will hamper our ability to compete at the very top level in our league... Why come to England to finish 5th/6th when he can do that at Valencia ... I hope im wrong, but it has been sneaking into my mind over the last day or so ..

Don't want to make the mood worse, but the 27 year old Ecuadorian striker who we were linked with, Christian Benitez, died today. RIP.

As far as I can make out, the delay is that we have agreed a fee but want to pay over 4 payments and that want in two. So still to agree essentially.

See this is where joe average (us, oh excepting if we're talking about willy size, i'm hung) would say 'split the difference?' and settle on three. As we all know pretty much sweet FA about how these things work, I guess that's too simplistic a solution. It would only take a quick nod, a wink and one of those secret three click handshakes of theirs and it's done.

Neither of those are true. Levy's wife works for the club (and has done for at least 15 years). It's reported they keep a house in America, but a second home.

It was his mother who was ill - she passed away a year ago.
