Burt on talksport.

No deal agreed for Bale.

All these deals are separate.

Bale determined to leave. It will be hard to convince him to stay.

Its easy to be blase about some so-so Brazilian fellas and some Spanish dude.

But maybe if we signed Cabaye......?

surely bale will be having second thoughts about leaving if we are considering signing lamela aswell as willian regardless of bales outcome!

we would IMO have a better chance of winning the prem than real would of winning la liga.

If that's the case it wouldn't matter how much ambition we showed.

Disappointing really. I could understand it if he was 27 and was entering his peak. But just turned 24 - could go down in history for propelling us to new heights, and could still get his dream move next year or whenever, where he won't be the big fish in the small pond and could well struggle in such an environment - Ronaldo is the main man.

If I was Bale and saw the signings we are bringing in, I'd have a long, hard think about how 'determined' I was to leave

Would love this to be true, but vanity, ego and the persistent whispering in his ear from that low life agent of his would win the day.......

The GB heart thing will mean summat completely different now as well ... I assumed it was originally done to the fans to mean "I love THFC" - now it seems more likely that it means "I love GB" (That's probably very unfair on someone I don't know personally - but if you are building a brand you will encounter and should expect summat called perception)...

At least BAE always stated he was in it for the money..... be that at spurs or elsewhere.

ali z again:
they want him to stay commercially, especially as we are building a new stadium and trying to finance it, Bale staying and helping us into champions lg, would be huge. (bale)

I don't give a shit if Bale is determined to live nor does he 'need' convincing to stay. If Madrid can't meet our valuations he stays, it's not rocket science, Bale has next to no leverage.

A bit more.

Burt: originally we wanted 3/4 players from Madrid but Madrid wanted too much for them. We wanted players on the pitch rather than money in the bank.

Maybe now we are doing deals then will go back to Madrid and see what they will offer. This sounded like opinion rather than what he knew.

He thinks deal will be done and won't be a deadline deal.

Madrid haven't offered what we think he's worth.

Burt definitely sounds like he's looked into the situation and it sounds quite likely.
