I don't expect it to all be positive, I've said that time and time again and also listed in this thread the type of posts I'm talking about ffs. It's not difficult and I'm sorry but it's not really up for debate. I have to be consistent here I guess and the line I throw out to everyone else is if you don't enjoy the thread avoid it. If it goes back to the mess it was this window I'll simply follow my own advice and I doubt I'll be alone in that. Like I said it's up to you guys what you'd prefer, but an itk thread without itk is going to be far less fun imo.
It’s all much appreciated as things stand and open to change. It does sound like a pain for you and you shouldn’t feel obliged @Trix

We share what we hear, which is extremely accurate at the time. The majority i/we share behind closed doors. One of the main reasons is the fall-out and negativity when and if it does not transpire. Like the two signings were earmarked as soon as Paratici took over, and we thought Conté was coming.

Great work by the mods here. The majority of SC’s on here are a joy. There are a few that needs to ‘chillax’ as I call it. Because we state what we hear, nothing is nailed on until the club announces it
It’s very much appreciated Herc. Thank you so much for helping to make January bearable once again this year! That goes for all the other ITK’s too.

Can we expect an end of the transfer window round up from you soon?

I'd agree that this section should be policed more strictly, like it used to be. ITK's post in good faith and should be more respected. It brings many of us in here to get a bit of perspective of where the club might be going and what players may be coming or going at a particular point in time. I certainly don't come in here to read all the negative nonsense and itk questioning & bashing that went on by far too many posters this window. COYS

Reacting negatively about ITK is an entirely valid response to it. Some posters are a bit precious about the info in question only be positively responded to. It will all become a bit cultish if people that have a negative reaction to a piece of ITK aren't allowed to express that.

The only things off limits should be things completely off topic and people directly targeting the people providing the information.

As others have said, there are plenty of ways of people only seeing the ITK directly if that's all they want.
There is a difference between

ITK "we are looking at a CM and winger"
Poster "This is dissapointing as I really think we need a RWB asap"

And

ITK "we still expect 3 in, busy last few days of the window coming up"
Posters "Weve heard it all before, dont get your hopes up"
"Levy always puts saving a few dollars ahead of the footballing side of things"
"We'll just line up signings and get gazumped"
"Option 5 on the list no doubt"
"Crumpets"

Reading these last few pages makes me appreciate what @Rob amd the mods do even more.
Basically, they're on a hiding to nothing because they just cannot please everybody and no matter what they do, somebody's gonna moan.

Basically, whatever they decide to do, I'll support it because I've been a member (and before that a lurker) on this place for bloody years and honestly, I'd be lost without it. ?

To be honest I've maybe posted in the ITK thread a handful of times over the years i've been on here, it's usually a very strict thread but thats fine, I just won't risk posting in it so I don't get banned and take my comment to the relevant thread if i'm not 100% sure.

It's really not a big deal or difficult for that matter.
100%, I'm exactly the same

But speaking as just a poster, I really don't get why it bothers other posters so much now that we also have a ticker thread and player threads. It's more a curiosity to me.
I think the most obvious gripe is that the thread is literally called "ITK Discussion" but some people just ring the same old bells that have nothing to do with the ITK on offer. There is a whole forum of threads to post opinions, but certain posters will abuse what is the most popular thread on the site during transfer windows.

And that's not just the moaning posts - that's all the crumpets/jizzing/"no end product" crap as well.

Anyway, I don't think it really matters now. This window has shown what a shit show the thread is when we are left to our own devices... ITKs have stated a preference for stricter rules... mods have said for years that the stricter rules work... I would bet decent money that we will have stricter rules in place this summer and the site will be a better place for it.

the songs. the awful, awful songs that some feel they need to post as soon as we’re tentatively linked with a player by a dodgy azerbaijani source. prison sentence. try them at the hague.
But, but what about my great, very contemporary song about Bentancur to the tune of the Superman cartoon?
All together now:

Bentancur
Bentancur
Plays for Uruguay and he can score
But can he score when he's a Yid
Cos if he can't we'll get rid
Rodrigo Bentancur, Rodrigo Bentancur

I thank you

This is why the ITK thread must be a zero tolerance thread. I talk bollocks most the time and would accept a ban from that thread if i transgressed the rules. ITK is why I came here in the first place and you and all other providers of ITK owe the rest of us nothing, yet you’re prepared to share information. I’m very grateful for that and this site would lose so much if the moaning hoards drive you out

I mean, it's not like all those reason haven't happened in the past, right? And we're still at the start of the FP/AC era, wasn't there ITK's that said Levy stuck his oar in during the summer (rightly or wrongly) over the Traore deal? It's going to take a few windows for people to believe that Levy can actually let the football side of things go, I am more hopeful after this window that he is.

And sometimes I think a lot of the less optimistic are just responding to the overly optimistic posts, it's science Newton's 3rd law ;)

But here's the thing. To me it's ALWAYS a shit show. Only in years past the thread gets locked (this frustrates me more than the whiners) , A&C seems like he's having a stroke and the mods are spending ungodly time cleaning things UP.

Maybe it's recency bias but I really did think it was managed well compared to other windows.

But as you said, if the ITKs and mods prefer the old way, so be it. Just please keep the ticker thread - it's brilliant.

But the point is thats Enic, FP, AC or Levy thread conversations.

If the ITK said "Levy is getting in FP's way" for example then sure.

Otherwise its just projecting past dissapointments on new ITK

I
for what it's worth I really liked the way the ITK discussion thread was managed on transfer day . That's the model we should be aiming for in the next transfer window, I also love the Ticker Thread and get very excited when I see it in bold font but then I get very easily excited?

We had to constantly keep asking not to post Twitter accounts that just round up any report that's out, and we were still getting people posting them....

If you want these threads with less restrictions then it's up to you.

The issue I have is people see these threads as the busy threads so want to get a bigger reaction to their over dramatic responses. It's the same in the match threads.

Considering Mendes is being blamed for our failed Diaz attempt. Can someone clarify why Mendes had to be part of our Diaz negotiations but not Liverpool's?

You mean the part where everyone of our players gets called crap, the ref gets called garbage, we should have had three pens and the game should end because of the five red cards to the opposition the ref missed?

because he is buds with paratici and we prob thought he would help get it over the line, ends up it was just the opposite.

This is the way I read it. Porta used Mendez as the conduit between them and us with regards to Diaz where everything was above board and going well, with price and personal terms were in agreement and all in place. The contract was not signed though, as Diaz was playing for his country in South America.

Mendez then allegedly informed Liverpool of the pending sale, where Liverpool sent a delegate down to South Liverpool to meet with Diaz's representatives and made an identical offer to the one we were offering. Although Diaz was quite happy and willing to come to us, he opt to go to Liverpool instead.

Mendez has shown himself to be a snake in my opinion, as he used confidential information for his own gains. Spurs and Levy did nothing wrong as Diaz would have been a Spurs player if they had dealt directly with Porta. Unfortunately Porta wanted Diaz to represent them in the negotiations.
