It was basically to show all the complainers that the grass isn't always greener and in fact that way we'd been doing it for the past 10 years was the correct way. The abuse people gave A&C for policing the thread strictly was out of order and getting worse. Every person removed would waste days PMing us to complain and whine and others would complain about how unfair it is. By relaxing it I think everyone saw just how bad it could be without him and soon you were all begging for his ban stick.

He's now unbearably smug so hope you're all happy! :p
Cheers Boss.
I've been here for 15 years and this is the first time I've intentionally given up on the ITK thread.
The ticker thread has been invaluable, so thanks for that & those who manned it ❤️

The new open style didn't work....

Things that annoyed me:

Songs (just make a song thread for the love of God, so I can ignore it)

Negativity (without detail), I don't mind negativity if it's specific and related. For example - "Dybala would be on big wages and injury prone", that is fine.

If it's just general "signing from juve, fuckin hell paratici" or "ffs levy", just go to another thread.

Jokes - just so many people, take a joke and then carry it on for years, it's horrific. Anyone who mentioned crumpets should have been banned.

The "I donated 10 quid" posts, I have nothing against supporting the site, but is there any need to spam up the itk thread with these posts. Maybe a separate donation thread? I mean who cares if member 16289 setup a standing order for 5 pounds a week? Is it itk? Is it related to spurs? Is it even remotely interesting?

Finally people posting the same posts over and over again. You don't need to post 20 times a day on the same thread. I was reading a thread and it was full of negativity and then I started to notice it was the same person on every fucking page (a guy called fredo). I put him on ignore as I honestly thought he was a bot.

Anyway rant over, the way it went over the last 2 days of the window (when it was policed) it was far better.

When I was younger I was quite liberal and for 'free speech' and all that, as I get older I realise that most people shouldn't be trusted to tie their own shoelaces, let alone be given freedom to contribute to society.

To add to this, I find comments relating to erections or ejaculation bizzarre at best and pretty creepy at worst.

I'm pleased and somewhat excited when we're linked to a good player, but I neither get sexually excited or have the need to express it in that way.

Strange.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I, on the other hand, still have a carpal tunnel injury from the first time we were linked with Dybala.

You've chosen the smart path, my man.

In amongst the pages and pages of nonsense, there are genuine snippets of interesting or relevant comments that probably don’t make it through. How in the hell are you meant to find (or even comment) on them amongst the repetitive shite?

Those that like the sound of their own voice, think and take a step back before posting. I used to be like this, but for the most am attempting to be a reformed character - doesn’t always work. Alternatively take a couple less glasses of beer or wine.

Spurs is so important in my life. Frankly I get so down with all the negativity also.

Thanks to all those that post ITK. It is greatly appreciated and of real interest and a reference as to how we are attempting to roll. Long may you guys continue within the thread.

I think that the Dele deal is a remarkable piece of business. there was no way that we would get anywhere near 40m fir him as things stand.

We all know he has the talent and I think that Lampard is probably the best manager in the PL atm to get him firing again.

I reckon that we will be close to the 40m when the trigger point is reached which is fantastic news for all parties

Why do you think Lampard is best to get him going? Curious.

I just feel that he seems to have the right temperament, balance between 'arm around' and 'demanding' and I also think that his game resembled a lot to what Dele could become. I also think that the way that Everton will play under Lampard will suit Dele's game.

There are managers like Potter who may also suit him but I don't think that he would suit a team like Brighton.

I also said 'atm'. Dele is broken at the moment and when his mojo is back he could fit anywhere, he would great in any top 6 team. but at this stage in his career he needs to get back to his best first

I would say just the fact that he wanted him & pushed for the deal . Not sure, how h can set up a seat with both DVB & Dele in it given both play very similar style & system.
But in the end, it comes down to Dele himself.

I'm suprised by the negativity, I actually think it was a pretty solid window....maybe pushing a 7/10.

A few things that amuse me

1. The bemoaning of Bentancur and Kulusevski as 'cast offs'. Firstly, it s Juve we are talking here not Genoa, so lets pull our head in a little. Secondly Bentancur has approx 7,500 minutes, 113 appearences and 86 starts over the last 3.5 seasons whilst Kulu is 21.....21 and played just under 2,000 minutes last season with 35 appearances.....FOR JUVENTUS!!
These are not players frozen out like our bunch they have been regular contributors for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

2. 'Diaz will be a star and Kulusevski is average'.......haha based on what? Is it the money? If Kulu was 60mil and Diaz 20 would opinions switch?
Now I'm not saying one is better than the other or vice versa, or that one will succeed and the other wont but what I am saying is either could go either way.....could be a Fernandes, could be a Van De Beek.
Diaz has had a great 6 months but if you went back to just the summer and asked people if they want a 24 year old Diaz whjo has only played in Columbia and Portugal and had 16 starts for Porto or a 20yr old Kulusevski who has had 3 seasons in Serie A and started 19 games as part of 35 appearences for Juventus....I think most would go Kulu.

3. 'If we scrape top 4' or 'we'll be lucky for top 4'. Pleeease, we are right in it. In fact considering we are 2 points behind United with 2 games in hand and we had more points then all bar City since Conte took charge as well as adding depth and clearing out distractions....I'd say we are the slight favourite of the chasing pack.

All in all cheer up ya dreary miserable bunch, things aint so bad
This guy.........so wise ??

Ooh what a thread bump. For a second I thought this was a new ITK thread.

It is actually interesting to have this post mortem now with a bit more hindsight than the typical rants in the immediate aftermath of the transfer window closing... In summary both Bentancur and Kulusevski have been bloody brilliant thus far, more of the same quality in the summer please Fabio!
