I know where you're coming from, but he's totally unproven. He should be doing cartwheels that a top 6 PL club is even giving him the time of day.
I agree with that point, definitely. The lad has ability, and wants to play in the best competitions in the world, hopefully he sees that we can give that to him in the future!

Perhaps those are not new Leandro quotes, and / or why are you guys frothing over sambafoot.com stories? if it was any british rag or site you'd all be suggesting it was bunk journalism...

After a few days of quite frankly, nothing, in the wonderful world of ITK, today we have all got another fix.

I'm really excited at The Journo's info this morning, from what he's heard it seems as if the club really are putting emphasis on this 'project' we started last summer, and if we can manage to get a Villa/ Soldado type in addition to some top quality youngers to supplement our squad then that would be an absolutely fantastic window IMO. This info suggests (to me at least) that AVB (and potentially Baldini if the rumours that he's done with Roma coming out of Italy are true) are setting their sights on something more than simply 4th place, and I for one welcome looking towards youth in order to achieve this- a style adopted best in recent years by the likes of Dortmund.

If Bernard is one of those Brazillians mentioned in the ITK then absolutely fantastic (other than either Villa / Soldado he's the one i want us to bring in most this window), however, if he's not then I'm sure AVB knows a whole host more of quality Brazilian youngsters ...

Here's hoping this comes to fruition!

P.s. was it just me or did the Journo's ITK seem pretty confident Villa WILL be one of the two 'experienced' players coming in?

Probably should have worded it better, I don't mean that a player wouldn't choose us over a CL team, hence why I said I don't think Leandro's comments rule us out in signing him, I just meant that you can't really be annoyed with a player choosing another team if CL football is available to them.

Yes I can, I can be annoyed. I can be VERY FUCKING ANNOYED when it comes to Leandro Da-fucking-miao  :banghead: :p

I say we give Barca, and Real Madrid first refusal on GB (privately - not sure on the legal ramifications) to sweeten the Deals for Villa and Higuain. Then wrap that Cornelius fella up. Wack Bernard in there with a dash of Toby Alderweirald, and jobs a goodun.
Oh and then win the league, so Bale doesn't want to leave.

And people questioned the importance of fourth... Sigh. I fear we might hear this a fair few times from our targets. :-/

Reporter to LD "Would you prefer to be playing in the Champions League"

LD "Yes but Spurs share my same ambition"

Fail to see what's wrong with that.

I feel bad, I always try my best to stay behind players and to support them when they join our club. However i'm actually fed up of Leandro and he hasn't even signed. It feels like it's been rolling on for years and years and years now. Im sorry but that starts to make me think we are literally just being used in the hope that another preferred club of his comes in for him.

There are other brilliant players out there that we should be spending all our time on who would make a similar if not better impact to Leandro and would cost less and more than likely be less ridiculously frustrating to sign as well.

I am sure Leandro is a very good player, very talented and i'm sure he would do very well for us. I'm aware he is the number 9 for one of the best footballing nations in the world. However it does remain that he has only played in the brazilian league. I'm not knocking that as such but i feel it's valid. Whenever you hear Leandro talk in the media it's all about who would be good enough to sign him... i can't help but think that the question should be who is Leandro good enough for? As i say i'm sure he's talented as hell but prove it. Stop jerking everyone about and talking yourself up, sign for a good european team and prove it in a top league. If it's us, great. If not, just say so and we can leave you to talk yourself up some more.

I know i've championed Pablo Osvaldo on here for some time and people are probably bored of me mentioning him but he has scored goals in Italy, he has scored goals in Spain. he is a big strong forward, good hold up play, good in the air and he will score goals in England to. I actually think he is more suited to England than he has been in Spain or Italy. All that and he is available for less money than Leandro apparently as well. He can play on his own and would bring the best out of those around him with his hold up play.

If we are carting the wheelbarrow about again, i would also rather have Soldado than Leandro. Again i think Soldado is more proven. Plus, i just generally rate him higher.

I also can't believe when people post that they aren't sure David Villa is what we need... I'm surprised Villa would even consider us, and not because i'm pessimistic about our club, I love Spurs and i think we should be an attractive proposition to any player with their head screwed on but Villa is world class, absolutely world class.

I should add, It wouldn't surprise me if the latest article with quotes from Leandro is poor journalism or mistyped etc, but i still feel the same.

If I'm honest if would be a lot more concerning had he said he didn't want to play in the biggest club competition in the world...

I think we possess the ambition he requires, and if he doesn't agree then if I'm honest ill just be happy to see this soap opera put to bed- for good.

Ah, so the article was mistyped?

Read the article again and look at what he is quoted as saying. He basically wishes that Spurs were in the Champions League (well so do I) but knows they share his ambition. The headline and first paragraphs are the journo's slant on it.

Not so much mistyped, more typed with an agenda. It's just standard procedure for journalists. Try and get a story out of fuck all.

if I could rate this "winner" sixty times, it wouldn't be enough. You clever sod. Now go forth and spread the word.

Of course we possess the ambition, surely all clubs outside the CL possess that ambition, but possessing that ambition and realising that ambition are 2 massively different things

I think it could be Bernard still, let's be honest... He's in his breakout season largely and most of the forum probably didn't know who he was. Still constitutes as an unknown player IMO.
