I don't think anybody in the world of football burns bridges. Except John Terry. Zing!

While I imagine that most other chairmen/gaffers prefer not having him on the other side of a negotiations, the fact is that this is an economic enclave of perceived riches and everybody can see past previous differences for cold hard cash. So whether player, agent or chairman/gaffer, they will always still deal with you if there is money to be had. They are probably vicious behind each other's back though. ;)

But look at us. German clubs sell to Bayern, despite not like to. We have a relationship with del Niro of Sevilla that could have been featured on Hello! But we still sold them Zokora. And I doubt Levy and Ferguson share Christmas cards, but if he came to us with 40 million pounds, you know Levy would take that money.

So I personally think the ITK was hued with this same concept of Levy being some rabid pit bull that nobody wants to walk by on the street. But it's more like "hate him.....but money's money"

* I use the term perceived because football isn't as rich as the public imagine. It's a hurting industry but those in charge keep ignoring the signs

I squat at this post. Exactly this.

Information, misinformation, THFC plants in the Forum, media crap, rehashed media crap, chairmen posturing with silly soundbites, internet kiddies on holiday pretending to be ITK, nobody here actually really knowing what is going on = stirring up a big shit fest. Transfers and stuff I'm still cool with ... for now. There are enough people at the club that will be aware of what we need to make something happen without us all getting worked up about it.

Last night Jenas played again and Thudd was on the bench. This week I am mostly shitting it that AVB might like Jenas :eek::mad:
I think there's a song in there...

A masterstroke which must have done wonders for the relationship!

Remind me some (regarding the David stuff), who was it the London Journo mentioned. IIRC it was Lloris and Butland done, but did he not also say Carroll was done?

*shudder*

Fair enough point about the financial collapse, but a 5m transfer fee, and 5m signing on fee for Adebayor, is hardly a drop in the ocean. I'm not saying we need to piss money like it's going out fashion. But it's clear (even inside ITK backs this up) that we are dragging our heels when it comes to transfers.

No, but the 6 million a year in wages ARE, a bloody big drop in our ocean when added on top, for a 29 yr old.

Cheers Bizness, I alluded to some of this earlier (or was it yesterday). Fans get blasé about saving 3m on a deal, yet this represents a years wages for one of best players. Or it could mean raises of 30k pw for two players we want to keep happy. Or it could mean the wages of 10 U21 hopefuls for 2 years or the entire duration of their development.

When you run a normal, self sustaining business, all this shit is counted and means something. Fans seem to have this strange idea that every football club can operate without counting beans, when the reality is that football clubs are going to the wall every season now, just like other businesses. Fuck Leeds, look at Rangers. A few years ago they were one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Football didn't fuck them, not counting beans properly did.

23 pages of nothing more than "dark blue" and some irrelevant currency-chaos...
Maybe this is the darkest timeline; can't we go back to the 80's and reroll the dice, staying away from Scholar and fucking Hummel - not selling Hoddle, Waddle & Gazza, sell Campbell to ManU and whatnot.
Maybe Kathrine wouldn't be married to some douche as well then; yeah - would have been something.

"Sounds like this is a game changing day for all of us. I almost sat on my balls, but at the last minute, I adjusted."

Thanks Biz! Glad to see Carroll is more of a remote possibility (more likely to happen if everything falls through?). Can't see us getting both Butland and Lloris though, but I'm crossing my fingers for Lloris.

Why sign Lloris AND Butland?

Makes no sense to me.

Butland is still to young and inexperienced for Premier League action, but supposedly a great prospect. Lloris is needed right now, and I have a hard time Friedel, Cudicini and Gomes at our club next summer...

Butland's age and inexperience is somewhat irrelevant, Lloris is 25, he hasn't peaked and can still get better.

Signing the two would suggest that Lloris is a stop gap and that's a crazy thought.

Butland looks a fab prospect. I'd be made up if we bought him, but as others state; buying him and Lloris is a weird move. I say chuck him in at the deep end with bracarlomes backing him up.

I agree that Lloris would be number one, but we do need backup keepers when Friedel/Cudicini/Gomes leaves.

At least, that is how I see it... And I am no expert by any means! (y)
