I feel for the lad who runs the Spurs official twitter when he puts out the 'delighted to announce GKN' tweet. Meltdowns on here are nothing compared to the shaven apes on there.

Very depressing if true. Feels a bit like only having one striker all over again. Based on this window who would have thought we were playing in the Champions League this season.

Qualify for CL

Show no ambitions whatsoever

A few low ball bids to keep the happy clappers/battered wife onside

That the little weasel all over

It would be interesting to see where we were with VDV this time 6 years ago, was he mentioned? if so was the deal on/off? it does seem like something is brewing as the club would not go and sell all these players just to make our team threadbare knowing we have CL and are wanting to completely fill Wembley.

We're by far the Greatest team... That net spend has ever seen!!!

Seriously was always told "Champions league once in it we will compete for the big name players etc"
Spurs get into it and we sell half a squad and buy average squad players ugh...

Horrible?

That's the players that got us to 3rd last season with the addition of Wanyama and N'Koudou and less Mason, Chadli and Bentaleb.

Not exactly horrible is it?

Not good that we haven't strengthened admittedly, but certainly not any worse off than we were.
The problem is most of our rivals have strengthened, and the impact of such has been immediate.

I agree.

If we don't strengthen it's poor management from whoever is making those decisions, and is quite likely to see us fall outside the top 5 at least.

But all these people who sit here and say it's 'horrible' or 'embarrassing' or 'the worst thing that has happened to me since that time an otter mounted me' need to grow up quite frankly.

The GKN signing we're expecting today has already been baked in imo, so doesn't count as a deadline day signing. The same shit we pulled when we changed Son's squad status on the OS from midfielder to striker when we couldn't buy a Kane backup last year.

I'm still hoping for a Levy special today though :woot:

not sure why we get our hopes up

whenever we have had the opportunity to invest a bit to take us to the next level we have never taken it

VDV was a great signing last time we got to the CL but that was it. The Nelson and Saha window was a good example where if we invested well we could have pushed on. History suggest net spend as close to zero as possible is the main aim

So;

Wanyama has replaced Mason (Bentaleb)
Nkoudou will replace Chadli
Son stays and plays instead of Njie
Lopez might replace Mcgee
Janssen is an upgrade on........?

Implying that Isco, Sissoko and Zaha would've been bonuses, to help us push on!

Have we stregthened? Will let you decide!
