I think you should tell us again about the LB position - I think if you post about it 30 times then it might make it happen.

Verbal or in this case written rumination TH1239. Sorry to have a pop but you just keep repeating yourself over and over.

I doubt now we'll sign anyone and it'll see some people disappointed on here despite our activity this summer. Certainly talk of £45m players sounds like utter sh1t talk to me...There seems to be no thought given to keeping a squad happy when they can't all play...so we sign Ozil for example - how will Eriksen or Chadli feel being mere squad players suddenly? How long will Holtby endure being a bench bunny? Or Sandro or Dembele or Capoue? What about Defoe and Adebayor?

As for LB, Rose won't be happy being 2nd choice (I don't see him as any weaker than Walker overall but no one seems to think we need a new RB). We might sign one and if we do then great if it improves the team and squad but I won't be losing any sleep over it after a very successful window. And we have exactly the same LB options that we had last year, instead of BAE we have Rose and the same options in Naughton and Vertonghen.

Dawson should've gone instead of Caulker if we could've got decent money for him - seems a far more heinous crime to me than our LB position or any failure to sign one...

I've been posting about our left-back situation because we have numerous ITK posts about it being what we are looking to upgrade. But if it makes you happy, I'll cease further comment until something definitive happens.

Also, I'm far from discontent with our window. I've made numerous posts about the quality of our signings, and am generally happy with the options AVB has.

There was a guy on SSN earlier who does/used to do medicals, and he said he did one for Andy Carroll who was injured at the time so I suppose it doesn't matter if its not long term

Yeah I just said the same to Breezer via PM. As I understand it, medicals look at a lot of things and a short term injury isn't necessarily a showstopper if it's well understood and straightforward.

I will be very upset if Lennon goes, chadli (although very early, early days) hasn't been as good as I expected and just that Lennon is one of my favourite Spurs players. Has been with the club a long time, seems a down to earth guy and I love his pace and trickery.

Would be odd to sell Lennon now IMO. Don't think Townsend has done enough to cement his place ahead of him in the squad, and outside that we don't have a lot of pace elsewhere in the team.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Totally agree with this.

Really hope its just interest in him and nothing more to it.

People need to stop criticising others about being unhappy. We have three/four problems as I see them:

1. We have Danny Rose as our only recognised left back. He is nowhere near good enough for a club that wants to be challenging near the top of the table.
After spending 100 odd million, no improvement at LB is a fucking major oversight imo

2. We lack creativity and attacking intent - this should be rectified by the introduction of Lamela, Eriksen and Lennon, hopefully.
If Eriksen and Lamela cannot deliver in this team then we are truly fucked

3. We lack fluency and cohesiveness as a team.
Yes, it's fucking shameful that after three whole weeks with seven new signings that AVB hasn't got us playing Barcelonaesque already.

4. (Debatable) Chadli is also very average.
Every team i have ever seen has at least one to three "very average" players. It's the team that brings them together. Chadli has been with us for less than a month, give him some fucking time before rushing to judgement. It also hasn't helped his game having a left winger playing loopi-lu at left back now has it?

Effectively what people want is a left back, not just a signing on deadline day. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
What the club really wants is fans with a modicum of understanding that it is going to take more than three PL games for seven new players to get blooded and play in an unfamiliar system. Perhaps though this is just too much to ask of some fans?

Chadli's a squad player. Lamela & Eriksen should take precedence over him.

Lamela on the right. Eriksen on the left? I thought he was a more central player. Number 10 or part of a midfield 3? Sandro Paulinho Eriksen might be our 3 for me with Lamela soldado plus one our front 3? Lennon Townsend or chadli isn't bad I suppose.

I watched some games of Twente, because I am a fan of Brian Ruiz, once. As Chadli, he is not as impressing as Ruiz or Miroslav Stoch, who once loaned to them. These 2 are not huge success, themselves. I think he is not as good as Dempsey and would be very lucky if he ever reach Dempsey's level. That is my honest opinion.

He played 3 games yes but offered very little. Only against poor, poor Geogians he looks like a real star.
And has Ruiz taken the EPL by storm since he joined Fulham? Are you still a fan of him?

I think the NLD showed how much we missed Lennons pace. I hope we don't sell him
Whats the point of pace if you can't get in behind the defences? We lack creativity someone to play a through ball to soldado or create something!

The wingers we have aren't exactly slow!

Worryingly, we are still 53 bits of ITK away from last Summer's target.

Looks as if ITK productivity has really dropped this season, and I think we're going to have to consider some transfers in the near future.

You lost me at "fan of Bryan Ruiz".

Indeed. I have vague recollections of us signing Malbranque even though we knew he would be out for a couple of months.

I'd be really upset to see Lennon move on.
We've got a situation there though, as Townsend really does look like he could develop into a top player, in very direct and good striker of the ball.
I'd have like to have seen him coming in from the left yesterday

If A&C decided not to post it I assume there was a reason or a request not to.

Why are we letting those wankers down the road go in for Ozil and Ba?

And your point is?

I would take any one of our midfielders over Ozil (if he were King why are RM binning him) and certainly under any circumstances take The Soldier over Ba. Now that is a no brainer surely?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Lennon definately needs competition but selling him at this stage is a mistake and would actually ring alarm bells for me as it tells me we only have one way of playing, which IMO will be sussed out quite quickly.

As you say, pace is vital. We've already lost Bale, we can't afford to sell Lennon too.
