But dont we have to have a slide away pitch over a nfl pitch? Not sure. If it's only 2 games per year i'd rather have a proper pitch & both play on it. Slide pitch just sounds like cress on a tray to me. Would rather have roots. Weren't the ones in wc japan problematical?

It's a minimum of 2 matches a year, plus concerts, boxing and whatever else we want.

Don't get the excitement about the nfl stuff. Rather have a normal pitch for the sake of a couple of mil per season but looks fantastic otherwise (explain if i've missed a crucial point). Done the Arse on capacity and the victims on kop size. Love it.

It's not just the 2 nfl games a season, for me anyway, but if the nfl are willing to play ball with us, other groups will look more favourably too. Money people don't like to miss out on the next thing, there was ITK earlier about people queuing up to join in and I believe it, there's many people who won't want to miss out and look silly turning down the opportunity. Greed plays a big part too.

A retractable pitch also means we can put just about anything we want on it. Event organizers will be after a slice of the pie soon. Hopefully we can get a national team to play games at the ground too.

I like the sound of "biggest club stadium" in London too, that has a nice ring to it, til Chelsea have a 61,001 seater anyway. With any luck out wall of sound will change the name of a "kop stand" too.

The number of CBs is very good succession planning - we have enough experienced players to cover while Eric and Kevin (and Cameron for that matter) develop into the excellent players they are undoubtedly capable of becoming. The pressure is off Eric in particular.

We don't know the exact details of the deal with the NFL (other than the minimum 2 games and the 10-year partnership), but it will certainly be worth more to us financially than just the 'rental' payments. Owning a stadium which plays host to not just one but two of the wealthiest and most-watched sports competitions in the world puts us in a unique and incredibly strong position commercially.

Also, if the NFL do decide to go ahead with a London-based franchise at some point in the future we're pretty much a shoo-in to be their home, given that we already have a good relationship and that we will have the only large stadium in the country which has been specifically designed to cater for the needs of the sport.

What was always a given with the new stadium was that it would bring our match day revenues in line with the elite clubs. What the NFL tie-in does is offer the potential for us to close the gap on commercial revenues as well. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's what I find most exciting about the partnership.

You just know that that Daniel will wheel out his chaise longue from his office and sit with a mate holding a sign "60,002"

What are the odds of that during the 1st game at home this season the first shot to balloon over the bar, the commentator will say 'Well that would be an extra point in a few years time.....'

We will need to break into the top 4 (soonish) to maximise our position and take title of top club in London.

The other thing is with our CBs - I do believe Pochettino will play who is playing best - giving everyone the opportunity to earn playing time.

One of the issues last season was how worn down we got as the season progressed because we did not have enough players that Poch trusted. I think we are addressing that in a big way this summer.

Still more work to be done - but a good start.

Exactly. We play a very demanding system and have a gruelling season ahead. We need to be able to keep players as fresh as possible throughout to maintain our intensity of play form start to finish.
