Kevin bond just on talk sport. Asked about transfers. Said he would be surprised if noone came in but you never can tell with Harry. He always has someone up his sleeve. Also said England job wld be very difficult to turn down for Harry but hasn't rreally spoken about it as he won't discuss it.

I think you guys are over-thinking POTL's cryptic, consider he spelled capital incorrectly twice he probably didn't put that much thought into it, also his first reference to 'fancy'ing a striker was "who fancy's a new striker" so I don't think he's making a clever play on Drenthe. I'd also be a little wary of Real Madrid loaning us out someone who can play left back + left wing!

My first thought on the capital city thing was Vucinic or Benzema because I wasn't considering Amsterdam to be capital of the NL. My 2nd thought was that the cryptic wasn't striker related and instead referred to Diarra: (London to London to a brief interlude at Portsmouth to Madrid and back to London).

Anelka does fit well with the clue though and could be a biggish name signing we were working on behind the scenes, but I'd be pretty disappointed given his age/ unlikeability/probable price/performances the last two seasons. If the club thought Fabiano was going to be a great signing though, it's likely they'd think the same of Anelka. Harry is probably a fan because of his premier league experience.

But as others have said, it's most likely PotL is referring to Suarez. We may consider it common knowledge that we're trying to buy him, given all the other indications, but PotL does have history of grand revelations of generally accepted wisdom (such as his "Kyle is a villain" post).

You know what. Moussa Sissoko had a release clause entered into his new contract extension this summer, which means he can be had for 20 million Euro. Considering we put a bid in for him during Harry's time of 15.5 pounds, maybe we are willing to add 1.3 million pounds to pry him from 2Lose.

Liverpool Echo journo told me today we got a big f off from Everton for one of their players. He guessed it was Fellaini based on the size of the f off, but knew it wasn't Pienaar as they are looking for the best deal for them on that sale. He's a good lad. Also said we were sniffing around Saha in the summer and got a similar repsonse.

Phil Neville?

Arshavin went on strike too

Moreover how does he celebrate when he scores, he tells the crowd to be silence - shiiiii :silenced:

He has also played in two captial - using google translator; capital and captial give you the same translation in russian.

But seriously though, Phil Neville.

He is their Captain, he's been a key player for them for a fair few years now, and we have been linked with him already this window.

If it was him we enquired about i can imagine us being told to F off, they wouldn't want to lose him. He's changed his game similarly to how Giggs and Scholes have managed to do in recent years.

Just in case no one has mentioned it but POTL wrote 'anyone fancy a striker', well I may be putting 2 and 2 together to get 5, but I was trying to think of a striker called Dan, Daniel or Danny as in fancy dan.

All I could come up with was Daniel Sturridge, Daniel Guiza and erm Danny Wallace.

Sorry just a thought.....

I thought the 'anyone fancy a striker', clue was solved the first time it was posted, i thought it referred to a wolf whistle (a sign of one fancying someone else), which in turn meant the young dutch forward "Wolfswinkle" - but i may have missed something in the preceding 20 pages !!!
