From clips i've seen (admittedly not many) I don't see any point in swapping Emerson with Di Lorenzo. He's not remotely similar to Spence.

I really hope we’re not back to waiting on Inter to poo or get off the pot, those guys have terrible constipation.

At least the friendlies start next week, so will be a good distraction
I thought Inter has a deadline of their own, 30th June or 1st July, to sort out their own mess. It's already a week after and they are still not making any moves.

I really hope we set ourselves a time to move on and don't look back anymore, which I kinda have a feeling Paratici is doing that and may surprise us with another quick-fire
purchase somehow.

Not sure how to feel about the latest ITK tbh. Sounds like we are missing out on top targets which is disappointing but I trust Fab to have good backups on the list.

Don't start shit pants because we might miss on one or two top targets. we've already onboarded top class players in Bissouma, Richarlison, Perisic. It is very clear that Don Paratici, Levy & Co are working everything what they can to bring in targets which might not always be the case in the past with Levy. If players don't want to come or clubs don't want to sell, then that's something out of our scope and should not even be considered as top target any more. Move on to another. And chill.

I wouldn't worry

I agree. We are in a good place. Just look at the deals we’ve done so far. It’s unprecedented (even during the Bale window). There actually feels like a plan. Conte will know what’s going on and if he has to wait for a player he really wants then he will. I think the South Korea trip is a bit of a red herring in that regard. Plenty of time left yet to get the squad organised.

Sounds to me like we operate with several "top targets" for each position we want to strengthen and are able to move on quickly... would also reflect the amount of rumours and ITK.

Is Conte happy if we don't get more in before Korea

Should imagine that it'll be less than ideal, but he's not a mug. He'll know that deals can snag.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Paratici is in constant communication with him and keeps him abreast of the situations and what the price looks like, what the delay is caused by etc. Conte will likely say keep pushing, or move on depending on how high the player is on the list, and how important Conte deems them to his overall preparation. He'll understand so long as it isn't us playing silly buggers with the fee etc, which doesn't seem to be the case with any of the deals we have lined up. It may be that Conte is prepared to wait a little bit to get his priority targets given that Inter etc seem to be pissing about without much of a plan. Conte will absolutely be aware that they're being knob-ends, and likely allow Paratici the extra time due to the knob-endery.

We had ITK yesterday that it was Bullets Birthday again today, so maybe there'll be some movement outta nowhere on a deal that looked like it was beginning to stall.

Fingers crossed...

I think the other thing to remember is that we often talk about footballers as commodities. They aren't. They're people with their own wishes, desires, ambitions, family units, preferred locations etc. It isn't as simple as just buying them.

If you were at the top of your game in your own line of work and a couple of companies were head hunting you, but you had also heard that your favorite company is also interested but is weighing up their options, you'd wait to see what happens. It's in the players best interest to. You wouldn't just accept the first company's offer. You might feel more of an affiliation with the company that is weighing up their options due to their stature etc, so you would absolutely wait to see if they were to make a proposal.

The company you are waiting for might be in a more favourable location for your family etc also.

In this scenario, the other interested parties would have to really sell their projects and possibly over pay. The selling of the project would take time - Visits to the site, negotiations etc.

In my situation, a company would have to offer me well over my current wage and better my working conditions considerably to consider moving as I like where I am. That said, I'd take my dream job on the same terms, maybe even less pay etc.

So none of it is ever as straightforward as we'd like to believe.

Trix said "Spence looked most likely, but not any more."

I'm not sure if that means imminently likely or likely at all. And if the latter, I wonder who we are looking at instead.

Who needs a cryptic when spelling it out still leads to stuff like this. I've no clue how you get the first interpretation there :p

Move on from Spence. Gibson can go monkey fuck himself. What we never, ever want again is a ridiculous Berahino situation.
Agree. Peace thought he got one over us and look how that turned out.

Time for a take it or leave it with Spence, but I have a feeling they will have little choice. He wants to come to us, we want him and so far no one has offered more.

On the plus side from Trix's update Lenglet looks more positive.

I'm with you. As long as we get a good RWB and Lenglet in, anything else is a positive for me.

Feel like we should have moved on from Spence last weekend. I said a couple of days ago that I thought that was the one holding us up, and we’ve spent the best part of another week wasting time with Gibson. From what we are hearing it looks like we’ve had to move onto a different set of targets now.

Hopefully we get them wrapped up soon, but it all feels a little flat after things going so well for us in the early weeks of the off season.

Out of all the Spence alternatives we could get from Serie A, Di Lorenzo would be the least suited ‘Conte wing back’ IMO - quite disappointing actually.

But let’s just wait and see, cause I really don’t think he’d be our first choice from Italy.

I'd rather us buy no RWB than hit the panic button and sign a square peg in a round hole or someone who is not good enough. If we are gonna go down that route then we are better sticking with Doherty and Royal or putting egos aside and overpaying for Spence.

If there's a pot of money though, just sign Lenglet on loan and blow the rest on Hakimi. Fuck the CM!

We did well in the early weeks other clubs have struggled some of them are getting traction with targets now, we've come to an impasse on a couple to few now. Eventually there was going to be some issues with players/chairman. Even the greatest optimist would struggle to think we could do all our business before Korea.

Perisic/Bissouma/Richarlison is good business, just need to tie up the last 2-3. I think we get at least one more by the end of this week, early next week.

While I agree with the rest of this post, it doesn’t feel like anything is this close. Maybe Lenglet, but feels like he’s being kept on the hook in case we can’t get other targets.

Going by the Jan window FP has been quick to close other deals for example Diaz > Dejan. Lengelet looks closest, I think your right e have been waiting on other targets but that could be announced tomorrow if we are moving on from Bremer.
