Whether or not we're close to signing anyone, it'll not go official til Baldini's in place.

Levy ain't daft, he's not gonna pay top dollar for a DOF and not let them carry the can for whoever comes in!
Plus it just makes sense & makes it look like a coherent strategy; we did the same for Andre last year after all.
It does make me wonder as to how much of the ITK we have had is just agent chat, since it's dried up so comprehensively. When the 'Levy' breaks it'll be interesting to see who we are after, young South Americans and world stars or Chief Dan's proven Premiership performers...

Good thing about Mourinho coming in is he's likely to want a couple of proven players to enhance his squad, he has plenty if young players already and its not his style to buy young, he'll be more influential than other Chelsea managers in the transfer market too; potentially they are out of the market for those types.
Can't see Moyes taking many chances either. That Andre is settled & knows his squad is a real bonus this year; kicking on from here is both necessary & achievable.

I would argue the proven premiership performers was more Harry's input-under levy we have bought modric, berbatov, Gomes, pav, dos santos, Sandro, lloris, verts, rafa. All for significant fees and all with no PL experience

I would argue the proven premiership performers was more Harry's input-under levy we have bought modric, berbatov, Gomes, pav, dos santos, Sandro, lloris, verts, rafa. All for significant fees and all with no PL experience

I'm referring to Adebayor, Dempsey, Dembele, Sigurdsson like last summer...rather than your Oscars, your Bernards and such and such

I've got some ITK for you - I lost my £5 on Harry and Everton........ That was one bit of info I didn't need to clear with the mods.

When AVB was appointed we (the spurs community faithful) did suggest that ITK could dry up significantly due to AVB actually being able to keep his mouth shut and play the media alot better than Harry who used to tell anyone that asked about our targets!!

is this lack of ITK not just a refection on this prediction being true??

Though According to the itk we were quite close with Oscar iirc only for Chelsea to come and blow us out the water by 5m or so on the bid. I would buy the adebayor of 2011/12 again for the fee we got him for (not this years one sadly) and 2 of our 3 biggest transfers were verts and lloris.

It's easy to split our signings into Levy ones & manager ones. Going forward it will be interesting how many more have the cruel talons of Big Chief Dan etched into them.

I really think everyone will be happy come 1st Sept. Think we will continue to build our squad, quietly and effectively. Let Man City and Chelsea fight over the big catch, plenty for us to feed off in the meantime.
