Great to get another club paying his wages, however when it's such a cheap loan fee but then relatively expensive buy option, he's just going to be back with us again next summer isn't he.
Probably right, but better that he’s playing in a league that will suit him and, at least, putting him in the shop window.

I think this looks reasonable all things considered

Would €1 million cover 20% of his wages?

With the 30m option I guess we're gambling on him having a worldie season. It's unlikely but his potential is so high, I suppose the club sees it as worth a shot.

If he's a flop he can't be worth any less than he is now anyway.

dragon1 (on ftl this time seems to think so) they had to pay for Romero as well
explaining our net spend bein a fair bit more than 60m

No harm in setting the option as high as possible and selling him for less next summer if they're still interested.

Hoping and praying they announce the Romero signature with a video of him pulling a contract out of someone’s hair

Does a thread exist on Milinkovic-Savic?
No, but he was discussed early on in the window in a few threads, seeing more news reports about him though, but expect it would be ridiculously high price

The news articles all seem to be around an initial 45m + add on's given he's only under contract until July 2024 so not too unrealistic. Good to see Ndombele being moved on even for a season, i think he could well be suited to the Italian league and do well enough to trigger the contract. Either way getting 50-80% of his wages out of the way and 2 of the 4 out of the training ground that are not included in the plans is great. Winks will definitely go at the end of the window to a Forrest or palace or Fulham type club, Reggie is an odd one as there don't seem to be too many options for him just now and he's probably the best of the 4 in terms of fitness and commitment

According to Romano they’re paying pretty much all his wages aren’t they?

Surely the 30m option is only to Napoli's benefit as insurance in case he does have a worldie season, and other interested parties he wants to play for help drive the price up?

If has an ok-ish season but just enough for Napoli to want to buy him, they can still offer £10-15m take it or leave it.

The 30m option then becomes meaningless as nobody else interesting to the player would pay that much either, we still don't want the player, and they know that.

A 1m loan fee with no option would be more beneficial to us, except Napoli have all the leverage.

With Lo Celso we seem to have used what leverage we have to avoid the option, so we can sell him in hopefully better market conditions, and hopefully after a good World Cup.

I honestly think fireworks are going to start flying over the last 2 weeks of the window, it's about to explode.

Lo Celso and Ndombele out (ish) is a decent bit of progress. I feel Lo Celso only wanted to go to Villarreal so that made it harder to do. I think Winks and Reguillon are more saleable, the former for his PL experience and HG status, the latter for his quality and European experience (he’s not a bad or disruptive player, just not in Conte’s plans). Tanganga and Gil could go, but Conte has shown they are not completely out of his plans by having them both on the bench. I think with GLC and TD gone, then HW and SR close behind, that opens room up (wages/squad space) for some late window additons to round out the squad nicely.

Still feels far more beneficial to us than Napoli, tbh. I feel like even if he does have a worldie season 30m euros is about the most we'd ever expect Napoli (or any club) to pay, given his wages and contract.
