Which is basically what we have with any ITK. Many are (IMO) charlatans who talk utter piss, many are legit. I pick and choose the ones I take seriously, as should everyone else.

If you don't believe The Journo, you don't believe The Journo. So what? Don't click on his threads. Easy peasy.

Agree with that. The recent Bale info has basically made a mockery of everything ITK is predicated on - every ITK is giving such wildly different info that we're no better off than if we had no info. In fact we're probably worse off, because we're all succumbing to some weird combination of manic depression and seasonal affective disorder.

I get what you mean, and was expecting Scotty to be very much part of the cull, mainly because of his wages.

However on second thought, Paulinho isn't an outright defensive midfielder, but more of a box-to-box type. This means that if we sell SP, Sandro (who probably won't be ready for the start of the season) will be our only designated defensive midfielder, and he of course cannot play every game of the coming season. Livermore i won't like to see anywhere near the pitch.

Scotty may have declined from the heights of his excellent 11/12 season, but is still very much an able player, who if partnered with a more offensiveminded player, can do what he does best, and win back possession and quickly redistribute it.

Quotes from Andy Johnson. Could Defoe be off to QPR?

"Jermain has worked under Harry before, he's worked with a lot of the boys before. I worked with him for three or four years at England. He's a great lad. He's worked with Jermaine Jenas and few of the old Tottenham boys and there are a lot of people here who could attract him to the club.
"Yeah of course, I think when I've moved to clubs first you look and see who you do and don't know at clubs.
"I think that has an influence on where you choose to go in the end, so fingers crossed and hopefully Jermain will come."

if the moneys right

Some decent updates today. Want the journalists info to be true on bale but would hate to see siggy and ade go. Siggy has a lot of potential and getting rid of ade just because we have saldado is crazy. We suffered last year with 2 strikers.

Re Jaspers. Concerned about dawson and kaboul. We need another top class cb to come in. Getting rid of caulker I suspect has to be with another centre back close.....

I'm struggling to see why AVB wants to hang on to Parker. I like the guy, he always gives 100% but he's obviously past his best.

EDIT: Just saw Flashp post. Fair points I guess, I just assumed he would be off.

Do you not think Defoe would want to go to the World Cup more than increase his bank balance though? QPR would be a good move financially but probably from a footballing perspective cause him issues. If he wants to go and get regular game time then Stoke and the like must surely be more realistic buyers.

I'm expecting a busy week for spurs with outgoings and incomings, with the information coming through our ITKs it seems that the next 28 days is one if massive transition. I have utter faith in AVB and think the signing of paulinho and soldado are real statements of intent, I think the money men and football men of white hart lane mean business after 2 years missing out on CL. Some big transfers rumbling by the sounds of things, Ronaldo, Rooney, bale, Suarez, these will be the catalyst for massive transfer activity in my view

Terrible news... I don't understand how people on here STILL cannot understand how this forum is supposed to work and what the ITK crowd provide us. On top of it it is a great source of revenue for maintaining this wonderful site as many donate as a direct result of ITK.

Those who continuously question, harass and damn right disrespect any ITK should be damn well ashamed.

/rant.

Jasper posts on another forum, SO or FC I think.

But you go girlfriend, venting the spleen is good for the blood pressure.

I have always frowned on our scatter gun approach to transfers with the huge changes we make from one season to the next, thus never really getting an established squad the way the most successful clubs on the pitch have done. Having said that I am prepared to concede that this window is different. I do believe we are working on targets to bring in whilst also clearing out players that manager does not see as key to his plans.

Yes we missed chances in the last few years but we know that DL did not have the confidence in our previous manager to go spend a lot of money. For the first time in ages we have a manager who we hope will be with us for years to come and I think DL is throwing his support behind AVB

Not too surprised AVB didn't want Shaw, I think he simply wants an experienced LB to step in and excel this year. Shaw is highly rated because he's so young and has bags of potential; but at the moment he's hardly better than what we have at LB. If he was 25 and French nobody would mention him as a target for us. He'll probably become a great player, but we have a limited budget for prospects and if we don't want to splunk a huge part of that on a defender I can't argue with it.

I am suprised...we can afford him now, this time next year he will be out of our reach and bigger fish may snap him up.

He'd still go. There's not that much competition for his place, let's face it, and I think Woy would still take him as he obviously likes him and knows what he gets from him and probably sees him as a quick-shot finisher and a good option to have in the squad.

Defoe would also probably sound him out about it and check what Woy thought before going. He would also see it as a chance to be the top man and bang goals in against inferior defenses and heighten his profile over the season and be the big fish instead of a bit-part here behind soldado and maybe one other.

Would not count this move out.

A transfer window which potentially involves parting company permanently with Defoe and Huddlestone, as well as Dempsey, can only be construed as a positive.
