You'd hope not. Just thinking this yesterday. Why the eff hasn't he signed yet. I know, there's contracts and lawyers involved and so inevitable delays but Jaysus, aside from the money involved, why is this taking longer than buying a house?

Every time Ajax accept the fee, Levy rings them up and offers them a penny less ad nauseam

At least we're well on course to have a couple of signings wrapped up by the time the Euro's start

The average house price in the UK is around £250,000, I'm sure Vertonghen is going to cost Spurs much more than that.

its not really about the value more the value in terms of percentage of what you can afford

So for a person earning the average wage of £25k per year buying the average house that costs £250k the process is bigger than a football club worth 100's of millions of pounds buying a 10m pound player

Although in this current economic climate every penny spent has to be justified, I guess. Which is right up Daniel Levy's street, he's the same, regardless of the state of the economy. Blood from stone springs to mind.

The average annual salary in the UK is around £20,000, I'm sure Spurs football club makes more money than that each year.

Thank you for that. I was under the impression he'd cost less than £250K. I now see the error of my ways.

I'm pretty confident there will be no movement this week what so ever, probably nothing will happen until after the Euros
