Far bigger ceiling than the likes of Moura. Would have loved him.
Moura wasn't as highly rated at the same age?

I don’t think the ITK we’ve had is particularly disheartening in the slightest.
What many people worried about was that we were completely skint and had to sell to buy. If we were willing to do deals for Pulisic and De Jong, who both in their own right are £50m+ players, it shows that we have the money to spend if the player is right.
I'm not sure about that - Ndombele seems like he fits the 'right' type of player, but we won't spend the money required to land him.
Lyon’s chairman has already said that Ndombele will absolutely not be sold until Summer 2019 at the very earliest.I'm not sure about that - Ndombele seems like he fits the 'right' type of player, but we won't spend the money required to land him.
I seem to remember ITK that he was keen on us and had visited our facilities (not the toilets) but that City refused to sell to another PL club. Would have been interesting if we'd refused to sell them Walker unless they agreed to Sancho the other way. Probably worth more than Walker now already. I think we'll regret not getting him.Still annoyed that we missed out on Sancho, his usurper at Dortmund. That kid is going to be a star. I wish some itk would shed some light as to why it seems we conceded so easily in his pursuit when we sold Walker to city.
Ties in with the itk outlook that these players seem happy to wait for the team of their choice to come calling. Good luck trying to convince them that we're a better option than the oil rich or footballing super powers.Lyon’s chairman has already said that Ndombele will absolutely not be sold until Summer 2019 at the very earliest.
One major problem is the mismatch between the level we are now competing at on the pitch compared to the ability/willingness we are to compete off it (in the transfer market anyway - the new stadium is going to be right up there). The real test for whether ENIC are willing to compete in the market will come after a few seasons when the club has made inroads into the stadium debt and is seeing the benefit of the higher level of stadium income. That's a fair point.
I'd be amazed if we couldn't convince the lad to come, by offering the right contract etc, IF we're prepared to stump up the fee to get him.
And i'd be amazed if Poch wasn't interested in this guy.
Just seems like there's an answer or obstacle to everything come our recent transfer dealings.
And generally speaking Poch likes to work with young malleable players, so signing the top stars in their prime might not be as appealing to Poch as we might think.

To me that's one of the most frustrating occurrences of recent years, regardless of if he'd turned out good or rubbish, just the fact that we got totally bitched about by City in that instance.I seem to remember ITK that he was keen on us and had visited our facilities (not the toilets) but that City refused to sell to another PL club. Would have been interesting if we'd refused to sell them Walker unless they agreed to Sancho the other way. Probably worth more than Walker now already. I think we'll regret not getting him.

Very poor negotiation when we had an asset they really wanted.
That's irrelevant isn't it?
Moura may have been viewed as having as much potential but he hasn't lived up to that. We're assessing their potential now.

Levy was never going to let a deal for a youth player jeopardise a £50 million transfer for a full back. It looks like a terrible decision in hindsight, but that's the nature of football transfers.
You’re right. I know someone very close to Sancho and he was never going to move to us so we can nip all that talk in the bud (as this also isn’t the place for it). Fair play to Levy for getting the best deal possible for a Walker.
