Good luck to him. I always wanted to see a bit more but it wasn’t really going to happen with our frontline. He should do well there and it will be good to watch.
Solid fee and going abroad so can’t complain too much.

Sad to see Stevie go but Mike Verweij (T1) is claiming we’re getting £27.5m and you can’t really complain if that’s the case.

He will do well there. Shame as there was a player there but lets be honest. Bar the Leicester miracle, he wont be a huge miss.
I disagree your slight on him. You obviously have selective or poor memory. He has more than contributed than the "Leicester Miracle" in the limited minutes he has played for us but hey, each to their own opinion. I liked him but yes, its better he goes somewhere else where he will shine, but I do not begrudge him the time he was ours.

Go on then, when did he more than contribute with the other 6 goals in 82 games?

Because I could really do with you confirming my selective/poor memory as you put it.

I think Danny Boy made around a million over what we paid for him?

Shame it didn’t work out for Stevie B. I suspect he’ll do well, I only hope we’re successful enough in the coming years to not regret selling him too much.

Possibly a case of wrong league or wrong time for him.
I reckon he will have a similar career to Depay

Bye Stevie, and thank you for some priceless goals/moments. Will do well at Ajax and get some decent playing time which he deserves.

As for us, a nice boost to a still already decent transfer kitty........

What a summer eh? Strengthening throughout the squad, more to come and a real sense of positivity and anticipation for the season to come.

Rebuilding done right. (y)

I don't want to disagree with you on your birthday, but apart from Leicester away and his debut vs. City he's done shit all.

Personally I'm glad he's gone, too much of a risk to keep him if Ajax were firmly interested and £28m is a tidy amount.

Good run and goal in first game back after lockdown.

Just never seemed to maintain any momentum with us at any point. Oh well, got our money back for someone who was no longer in plans.

If that future CB and AM end up being expensive signings it’s interesting how we weren’t getting those done earlier in the window to take to Korea.

Maybe it’s a case of better deals becoming available as the window progresses. You’d just think if we had a potential starting centre back to we’d want him in the squad asap.
Or, maybe one (or both) of these are true: more expensive signings are harder to do as their clubs don't want them to leave and/or you don't need to coach them quite as much as they are already that good?

It was an odd response in more ways than one

So with the Bergwijn and CCV sales, we’re at £100m outgoing so far this window (Romero purchase activation included). With Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Rodon and Clarke to possibly leave, this takes us close to the £0 mark again.

With Lenglet set to join on loan, and possibly Spence at £20m, one suspects we’re still going big on 2 more players or this £150m cash injection looks unusual timing.
