For Conte's first summer window, I think Forster, Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, RWB (Spence?), 2 CBs (Lenglet & Bremer) is a fantastic window. Rome wasn't built in a day but we're on our a way.
I know we seem to have cooled interest but add Eriksen to that list and I’d be chuffed!

I know nothing of this guy, but this feels significant to me?

Not because of the impact he may or may not have - I don't know anything about him as I said - but I recall when we were negotiating to bring Conte in, we heard he wanted a far bigger back room staff than Levy was willing to pay for.

Bringing in people like this, who Conte clearly regards as experts with very niche specialisms, suggests Levy and the club are buying into Conte's vision in more ways than simply going for the players he wants.

Posted a link in the Conte thread that discusses this guy. Certainly a niche specialist - and you're right that it shows that Conte is being backed with what he wants...

It's not been finalised yet but Spurs are in advanced talks to appoint Gianni Vio to Antonio Conte's coaching staff. Details below on why he could end up being a crucial element in a big season for Tottenham.

I believe he is a Set Piece coach. Who'd have thunk we needed one?

I think we can all agree conte wants a physically strong and tall team and it’s starting to show with our signings

We haven’t had that in a while

Sounds very good too. We have needed someone like this for a long time.

I hope this specialist can sort our throw ins out, we never retain the ball from throw ins, we’re actually abysmal at them

"has reportedly designed 4,830 different routines which Roberto Mancini's team were able to utilise from free-kicks and corners"

I think this is inaccurate. I counted only 3275 that they utilised.

Should keep us going us going for a while though...
"Lads, go for Routine 3127"

"That's the one where we smash into the first (opposition) man and then just play on as normal yeah? I'll go for that one"

I reckon we've got this covered

Set pieces coach and Perisic signed with Richarlison soon, maybe Lenglet who has scored a few headers and Spence who has height too (y)

Interesting that the plan seems to be to have 6 CBs for 3 positions but only 5 forwards as there’s been nothing to suggest Sanchez is going from recent ITK. He’d be the best 6th choice CB in PL history. Wonder if it means Parrot staying around as 5 for 3 spots seems light with all the fixture congestion this year as you’d generally rotate forwards more than defenders
Perisic for example is versatile in that he covers positions across the front three. With versatility th squad can be kept trim with care that the level below is not exposed as it was last season.

There’s a really in depth piece on Vio by a journo on the Athletic, who looked at this guy just before the Euros last summer, when Vio was working with the Italian national team.

I think, as has just been noted above, with the addition of a set piece coach, Perisic, and Richarlison (both good on set pieces - taking and receiving), Conte has the minutiae of the system fathomed out. It's often been said he's a stickler for detail, so it's nice to see an in depth plan taking shape. Plus it will help the team massively overall as our set pieces are always a bit dismal.

What's also nice is that additional back room staff for Conte would point towards suggesting that his stay at the club could be for longer than we imagined - which would be brilliant.

It's been mentioned that not all of the 150m will be going towards player purchases. If these are the kind of signings we are making with that money, it is just as important to the team as players. Could have a big impact on our results on the pitch.

This is great to see.

Tottenham Hotspur are growing in confidence that they can seal a deal to sign Richarlison from Everton with the player keen on joining Antonio Conte’s squad.

Richarlison’s preference to make the move to Spurs is seen as a key development as the clubs attempt to find an agreement over a fee and deal.
