Dragon on coys

The reason I posted last week that our money will much more likely Be going to goodison than Yorkshire is because it’s who conte wanted much more and right now conte has levys ear

conte wants defenders now , rodon is highly likely to be off we have tons of interest which means I expect two center half’s plus Spence to join

Enic realize two things right now

1- we have a world class manager who If backed will win things

2- Chelsea going for 4.25 billion I think it was whose infrastructure and stadium is vastly inferior to ours means that if we can add some serious silverware That Means Enic can sell for Mega money which is why after 21 years they finally made that 150 million available As if conte delivers trophies they will get that 150 back many times over
Can't disagree with any of that. I've mentioned, as have others that Conte loves Richarlison so he will be delighted if we can bring him in.

Spence genuinely seems like a matter of when not if, but I haven't heard anything on that.

On a personal level, I feel we would still be one creative attacking midfielder short after Richarlison but if Conte is happy and would rather we invest defensively, then I'm happy.

I guess Kulu can play the AMC role and so can Kane. With a front 4 of Son, Kane, Richarlison and Kulu, that's very fluid and adaptable.

CM we have 4 very strong options so I guess a RWB and CBs are the weak point currently.

Exciting times!

I expect two in before Korea.

Ps remember away kit launches during Korea tour ??

Have a great day ? (supposed to be a pigeon for the record but WhatsApp doesn't have one) ???‍♂️

Seems Richarlison, Spence and Lenglet could be seen as close (ish) just finalising negotiations but actively. Wouldn’t take a lot to push them over the like before Korea. The additional CB is the one, feels like we are hanging out for Bremer, but he’s hanging out for Inter. I suppose this deadline for Inter to sell will make the decision for everyone. Agree with the comments above, to get all that done early (plus those we’ve already bought in) will be a huge plus. Hopefully outgoings such as Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Rodon, Emerson, Sanchez? Etc and maybe that’ll recharge the kitty (and open up wages) to go for additional players like a creative AM/WF. Conte was quite clear that WB, CB, CM and CF were minimum required, plus replacements for any leavers. He was quite vocal about the squad being too small after January, so doubtful we’ll go into the season with even less players.

Thanks for this, so (and I put this, or something very close to, in the Lenglet thread, but it seems appropriate here too), it sounds like:

- priority 1: we get Richarlison in
- priority 2 and 3: a defender and Spence
- priority 4: another defender

….if we can get the right players in above, at the right price, AND sell those we need to and consequently have some cash left over…

…then I think Fab ad AC might add someone in CM/AM who could add a bit of flair and creativity, if they can find the right player at the right price.

Frankly, if we get priorities 1 to 4 done, and sell some of the peripheral squad players, then that's an outstanding window.

If we can add one more player on top of that, it's a cherry on top.

Feels like we're ahead of the game at the moment - the Korean tour seems like a good line in the sand to get (hopefully) most of 1 to 3 wrapped up

Interesting that the plan seems to be to have 6 CBs for 3 positions but only 5 forwards as there’s been nothing to suggest Sanchez is going from recent ITK. He’d be the best 6th choice CB in PL history. Wonder if it means Parrot staying around as 5 for 3 spots seems light with all the fixture congestion this year as you’d generally rotate forwards more than defenders

Good to hear positive news. Still bemused at letting Rodon go, so still needing 2 CBs... Also no mention of the big target man striker, so fingers crossed Richarlison has it in him if he has to cover for Harry. Many thanks dragon1 and @Hotspur88.

Difficult to say as of right now. At some point though a decision needs to be made about Parrot, Devine and Scarlett who have all been impressing for different reasons. Could easily be that Conte see's one of them getting some game time this season with us(especially with 5 subs), and will fill that final role. Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact we have an academy with one or two very good prospects, in favour of something shiny coming in.

This isn't for discussion here, just pointing out not everything has to be about spending money.

Thanks @Trix. I do wonder if we’ll look to take advantage of the buyers market with the European clubs skint, particularly if we can shift a few outgoings.

Devine most likely to get some game time IMO. Obviously all three will have some of pre season to impress but I feel Parrot & Scarlett will be loaned out. Parrot as you will know has plenty of interest and really seems to have turned a corner after all of his issues.

Devine, Scarlett and Parrotall have their own threads in spurs chat if people want to talk about them getting game time (here or loan)

Richarlison is the big target man striker that has been mentioned. . . . . . :cautious:

Cheers for the info as usual (y)

I'm with you on the creative player front - we only have Kane who consistently plays aggressive progressive passes.

When he is off form or marked out the game we still looked devoid of ideas on occasion.

Conte having Levy’s ear is the most important part of that post I think. That along with Conte being the demanding character he is, can only be good news for us as it should mean (where possible) we will be going for those first targets on the list rather than the ones at 4th/5th, that previous managers might have been satisfied with. I think we all get the impression that Conte isn’t that type of guy and if he has Levy’s backing, then it can only be a really good thing for us. Getting Richarlson over the line should really help that relationship. It’s a big deal for everyone in many different ways.

I'd be happy for us to go down this route but only if Conte has enough confidence to actually use him. I'm not fully convinced on that front.

I think Conte has mentioned wanting a creative type so I wonder if it's something we look at towards the back of the window when most of the business is done and we have a better idea of squad numbers and remaining budget.

For Conte's first summer window, I think Forster, Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, RWB (Spence?), 2 CBs (Lenglet & Bremer) is a fantastic window. Rome wasn't built in a day but we're on our a way.

I know nothing of this guy, but this feels significant to me?

Not because of the impact he may or may not have - I don't know anything about him as I said - but I recall when we were negotiating to bring Conte in, we heard he wanted a far bigger back room staff than Levy was willing to pay for.

Bringing in people like this, who Conte clearly regards as experts with very niche specialisms, suggests Levy and the club are buying into Conte's vision in more ways than simply going for the players he wants.

Agree and still think there's complete under the radar targets too. RWB is essential for us now.

It's very significant IMO. We do not exploit set pieces as much as we could. Set pieces can help swing a game in your favour when things aren't going well, or provide the key breakthrough against stubborn teams. Being good at them will add to your points tally at the end of the season.

This guy was brought in by Brentford a few years ago apparently and they've had a set piece specialist coach ever since, so they clearly see the value in it.

On top of that like you say it's a promising sign that Levy is allowing Conte even more technical staff too.
