Hopefully this will be the first deadline day , where we can sit and relax knowing we have done our work already

I believe this will be one of those deadline days when Daniel Levy does his magic and coups another "Van der Vaart". He would have ticked off all the necessary spots by then and can work his magic freely

I hope not. Only because that isn't his job anymore and he should keep his nose out for fear of pissing off the people that actually are doing a good job.

Getting deals done this early would be dreams come true for Conte. Also I can imagine with what's going on at Chelsea, it'll be a month or so before they are in a position to start buying and selling players.
As has been alluded to in player threads, Chelsea's targets might have an indirect effect on who we can aquire.
Perisic is a great buy. Firstly he's a great player, who already knows what is expected from him under Conte, and his age isn't a concern as its a free transfer.

And the SC collective will be furious that Wolves have overpaid for an unknown "wonderkid" whilst Levy is still loading the paper into the fax machine.

“Not guessing” followed by a guess … is a guess.

No means no. Don’t make someone a tea if they don’t want a tea. Don’t try and make them drink the tea if they have said no.

Would there be interest in a Guess Who Thread? I.e. a separate thread where you are only allowed to post the name of the player you think the latest cryptic or itk Info refers too, just to see afterwards who was right (not a debate or a wish thread, just fun).

Or is that just a hassle for the mods and a potential issue for the itk?

perisic medical this week

strong interest in Spence, seems Emerson more likely to be offloaded

“Spurs are set to pursue Conte and Paratici favourite Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan.”

Bastoni keen on reunion with Conte, convincing inter to sell/them getting a replacement seems to be main sticking point

Gvardiol back up option

will go after another CB if Rodon/Tangana go

Some more Ally Gold bits:

football.london understands that Tottenham have a strong interest in Spence who is involved in Sunday's Championship play-off final for Forest against Huddersfield. There is set to be plenty of competition for the wing-back's signature, with Forest also keen to retain him if they do earn promotion to the Premier League, which could include trying to take him on loan again if a bigger club signs the young wide man.

football.london understands that Tottenham are also big admirers of RB Leipzig's 20-year-old centre-back Josko Gvardiol, who played 46 times last season with six appearances in the Champions League. The in-demand Croatian however has a long contract with Leipzig until 2026, signed last summer, and is believed to be happy to remain in Germany amid interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.

They will also look at attacking signings with a forward-thinking central midfielder and striker being sought as well as replacing any departing attacking midfielders.
