That could back fire and we could actually end up with Terry... New manager and all

Saw Odemwingie a few times last year missing absolute sitters... Not the player we need... he is a poor version of Defoe when he is on form...

Give it a bloody rest.

We are not a 'top club' we've had 4 maybe 5 good seasons in 20 years.
that's like saying Newcastle are a top club.

We are in the Europa League not Champions League, last season means Sweet FA.

also STOP mentioning Eto'o if you do have to please spell his name right you neanderthal
I don't wish to be out of line here, and I say this with all due respect, but, from someone on the outside looking in I must say you come across as a bit of a knob.Don't take that the wrong way.

I don't want Adebayor because I don't think he is very good and he is a striker who has had 1 very good season in his career ..........a bit like Roque Santa Cruz but slightly better.
The guy is on £160,000 a week,do people seriously think that he will drop his wages in half to sign for us?
Odenwingie is a 30 year old who is probably worth £8-10million for WBA,really don't see us looking there.
I wouldn't mind Forlan or Drogba who are both similar ages but they would both have to be free transfers,we shouldn't pay any transfer fee's for them.
At the minute from what players we are linked with,Vucinic and Leandro seems our best options at the right kind of money.

Building for the future.

I take it you're pointing out this comment made by BB.

Even still, he's bang on the money about everything else.

It all sounds very ad hoc to me, no clear strategy in place. I sincerely hope that isn't the case again.

Why are we so airy fairy when it comes to pursuing what we really need.

But how much of an insight do we really have? I suspect we think we know more than we actually do. In reality I imagine the process is a simple of identifying a couple of positions and an ordered list for each position. Then go down the list.

This window really is shaping up to be a total yawnfest.

Midfield - no real upgrading required in this department IMO, just need to hold what we have and maybe trim a few of the surplus.

Defense - maybe a CB require as a bit of cover, assuming king plays a bit part, and Bassong is off.

GK - sorted (if you can call it that)

Strikers - this area so obviously needs upgrading it's frightening. Why are we poncing about chasing the likes of Scott Parker, Charlie Adam etc (assuming ITK is taken at face value).

We should be blowing our entire summer budget on 2 strikers (Leandro and a more established top line striker).
If the wages are a problem, pay a signing on fee as an insentive. But please, don't waste wages, squad places and budget on players that we really don't need.

If the Europa league games look like they will impact on our league games, then use some of our younger players, who are less likely to be used in Prem games.

A Champions league place is the utmost priority for next season, if the likes of Bale, VDV, Modric and Sandro will continue to see us as a club matching (or at least trying to) their ambitions.
Levy needs to take control of this situation, rapidly, before it's too late.

IMO, this club is teetering on a knife edge this window.

Spend big, and at least try to get back into the CL, or try and do things 'on the cheap' and find ourselves battling Villa, Everton and Stoke for the last Europa league spot.

At least if we spend big and take a bit of a risk and we fail to get CL, we can recoup whatever we've laid out this window by selling Modric or Bale (which will happen anyway if we don't make it)

Can't help think we'll fuck ourselves up this window (just like the last two)

22nd May and that last minute Pav goal seems a long time ago!
Think that is what exasperates the desire for transfer news...the fact that the club play such a big part in our lives and then 4 weeks of nothing.
Same for journalists I assume...every few days during the season there is something to report...the minute the season is over they almost seem to agitate situations in order to facilitate news that sells papers.

For our own sanity please roll on the start of the season

The insight we have is Harry making comments suggesting he has no idea what's going on with transfers. That's had me worried since January especially.

The idea of bringing in Harry and having no Director of Football was that Harry, as manager, would oversee all the football related stuff, including transfers. That doesn't seem to be the case.

That, alongside the seemingly desperate last minute bids, showed that we had no plan in January, no transfer strategy. Has that rolled over into this summer window?

Along with fans fascination with how much a player costs, why do people worry about the age of player.

If he's past 27years old it seems we get the sarcastic, "Building for the future" jibe.

What about building for next season and keeping an eye on the future?

In terms of goals scored....Odemwinge had a better season than Defoe last season. 29 years old is pretty much in his prime he won't be much slower than what he was previously in fact the experience of last year will stand him in good stead. How many times did odemwinge last season pull clear from the last defender and hit the target compared to that of Defoe.

Obviously Odemwinge has strengths and weaknesses but his age is not really something to worry about or stop us from signing him is it?

I can undertand it if we were linked to a player that relies on pace who was 35 as no doubt he is on the decline and may not bring what we want for the forthcoming season. But 29?

Having Berbatov and Vucinic in the same team makes no sense to me.
Berbatov truly is a **** the way he manoeuvred his way out of Tottenham is unforgivable in my eyes.

I still don't understand the hate on this board for Adebayor.
Despite sections of our fans abusing him.
He has still had pleasant things to say about us.

Didnt berba have a an agreement with Levy if we were not in the CL he could leave? berba is only good to have if he has a partner .

I hate ade he only said nice things once he knew of our first interest, we were just about to get CL and he wanted bak to london thats all, he is a cad otherwise, he is scum he shud be left to rot in reals c team. sorry but i hate him n most ex scum, you'll prob mention gallas, he was never outwardly dogged or bagged us.

Anything Harry says to the media involves a large pintch of salt.

This!

I'm always relieved when a season ends. Not sure why, just seems like the pressure is finally off, I don't have to worry about my entire weekend being ruined by a crap defeat to a relegation-threatened nothing team.

Then two weeks after the season ends I get bored and I start to think "damn, I wish there was a game this weekend!"

To fill the hole we need transfers. Now more than ever with the disappointment that is our strikeforce - our future in the balance at the end of The Misfiring Three.

So far... just Brad Friedal coming in. I'm alright with the fact he's signed but it hasn't quenced that insatiable desire for new transfers!

Must.Have.New.Signings! Now!

Sorry to bring up the "we're not a big club" debate again, but do you think Eto'o gives a fuck about our history? Do you think he knows much less cares about us being the first club in the 20th century to win the double?

Tottenham has a great history with great fans, but to most players in Europe there are now five "big clubs" in England and we're not one of them. I only include city because of the money.
