This guy knows far too many names of people who normal people wouldn't.
I trust ya buddy!
Seeing as we've got some ITK on the Modric situation, this isn't quite ITK but the situation is baffling and I have a theory as to what may be going on. Please note: Theory. Definitely not reality. As far as I know.
Two things don't add up. And I'm not talking about the Moderators responsible for numbering the Read Only Thread.
1) If we were adamant that Modric is not for sale and Chelsea keep making these bids and going public in the press, why aren't we reporting CFC to the FA?
2) If we have evidence of tapping up then, again, why aren't we pursuing legal measures in the same way we did with Keane and Berba. After all, that worked if in no other way than getting mammoth transfer fees and raising millions for charity.
Maybe we don't have evidence... yeah, right. We'll tap phones and access bank accounts from council members and of the West Ham board but when it comes to the slipperiest scumbag toerag Kia Joorabchian and one of the world's most notorious gangsters Roman Abramovich, we can get nothing.
Maybe, just maybe - and in the hugely unlikely case that anyone thinks I have even the vaguest whiff of ITK about me, let me assure you I have about as much "know" as a TribalFootball "journalist" - we have the evidence. We have a lot of it. We are ready to launch the suit. But there's a reason we're not doing so. Maybe there's a reason that we will only consider laying the case out on September 1st or 2nd.
I think it's got nothing to do with Modric and everything to do with the fact that we want to deal with Chelsea on other matters. I think once we've got that (and I'll throw the names of Drogba and Sturridge out there), we'll lay this watertight case out and see Chelsea literally fucked from start to finish with an aging squad plus a couple of kids to serve them until, at least - given their 12 month suspended transfer ban that will surely become active - January 2013.
If we go for the ban now, depending on when it gets enforced, they may still be able to recruit next summer. Why let them get away with that?
As I say, just a thought. I guess we'll know when Levy does his annual OS address to the fans on September 1.
Bill, how can we possibly charge any club with tapping up players when Harry talks about other clubs players on a daily basis?

When the likes of Man Utd have to sell their best player against their will......................every single club is a selling club!
There is absolutely no disgrace in selling a player that wants to leave for a huge profit. Get over it!
Let's get real here, agents decide where players go and agents decide when players should move on to a bigger club.................obviously because they make a huge pot of dough.
If we keep players against their will(agents instructions) do we really think that they will want to do business with us in future?
How will that effect us buying new players, will their agents want them to sign big contracts that they know we might enforce? It's certainly going to rule out future big money moves for them.

Should not consider selling to them Chelsea ****s at all, abroad or nothing, force him to stay and sit in stands if we have to. We can retire him if needs must, he will be over the hill by time his contract runs out. Ideally we get someone like Erikson in now and sell Modric abroad for 30+ million in jan - if he is on strike got to consider this
But that's not 'tapping up' - and I'm sure that in almost every case where it's relevant (ie. not stating the obvious, that we'd like to sign Tevez etc.), we've already made contact through the correct channels.
The Chelsea/Modric case, when looked at objectively is obscene. Derisory bids, the player behaving as if coached, the stunning volte-face - it makes no sense, other than to assume there was an illegal approach/negotiations.
I want some of whatever he's smoking :grin:don't know why, but i've a big feeling now we will annouce around 5-7 signings in the last week, while 5-7 had to go including Modric.
i think this idea to keep Modric departure quiet.
i expeect :
in: Diarra + Adebayor + Forlan/Rossi + Cahill/Samba + Barton/Parker, Marin/Farfan/J.Cole/Valencia
out: Modric + Hutton + Palacios + Giovani + Pavlyuchenko/Crouch + Bentley + Bassong.
