As things stand Arsenal have a forward line of
RVP, Podolski, Walcott and now Giroud to choose from (and whatever happens to Gervinho, Arshavin,)

We have Defoe and Saha if he has not been released yet with Harry Kane
Just as well the season doesn't start tomorrow then! ;)

True. But RVP will likely go, Arshavin and Gervinho too. That leaves Podolski, Girould. Walcott may go (and either way he's not all that). I see us retaining Ade and Defoe, losing Saha and buying a.n.other (eg Remy). These things take time, that's all. It's early days. I'm pretty optimistic.

I don't think he was... But if they do decide to sell him it won't be for less than £15-20 million. Which is why i'm doubting Real Madrid offering us £35 + Sahin. I think £20 + Sahin is more realistic.

Real only paid approx £7m for him and he played less than 6 games. As to how that doubles his value is beyond me.

We may have to buy more than two strikers - it will all depend on the new manager and his prefered tatics - if he is a two up front guy we need three new strikers assuming we don't retain Saha.

Saha is here for another 12 days only (so is Ade). Kane's more an AM.

Don't forget the mighty Jonathan Obika too. He's actually our best forward at the moment!

Well I didn't include Arshavin, Gervinho or Chamakh in the forward options as I expect them to be moved on and OX Chamberland isn't a striker so I didn't include him like I don't include Bale or Lennon for us

I have no doubt we will bring some strikers in, we simply have to. I was just highlighting that as things stand we will need to bring in the type of quality that will not only match what we had last year but kick us on to live up with what they have brought in

Of course I should include VdV but for the record I don't think RVP is likely to go actually, not this summer

I'm sure we went into the 1st game of a season with Darren Bent as our sole striker, lol.

May be Sherwood and Ferdinand will do a Paul Scholes and be our experienced signings :p

'We may play with no strikers at all and play with an attacking midfield', he sniffed nonchalantly, as he sipped an aperitif and affected a continental accent.

I know/ hope you're joking, but he wasn't even Yeovil's best forward last year.

Interesting your thoughts on AVP. Thoughts on V d V staying?

I think its near impossible to know if VdV willl stay or go currently until we know who the next manager is

Personally I expect him to stay, he's arguably our best player and its hard to see why a manager would not want him. That being said he will surely raise similar problems he always has for us in terms of finding a way play him that keeps us balanced and gets the best out of both him and the team.

I don't believe the rumours that he wants to leave because of the lack of CL football but he may well be somewhat disgruntled that Harry has been let go (I don't know the ins and outs of their working relationship or how big a factor it was for his enjoyment working for us)

Has Giroud offically signed for them? how depressing, as well as being half decent upfront he is also extremely good looking :(
He's a bit gay though
