It could be we gave the player and agent the time we were away to look for a new club.

Now we are back, the club will also be looking to find new clubs for them

I don't think we desperately need to get people out before any more in more that's what we want to do at this stage, it goes without saying we have to sell, of course we do, but I think it's just that now's the time we planned to do it. I don't think this window has just rolled along, it has been planned and is now playing out as planned.
We have done good early business but the inalienable truth about transfer windows is that as time goes on bums start to squeak and clubs start selling and I believe that's what is behind dragon's "testing their resolve" line.
As the window progresses I'm becoming more and more impressed with the way Fabio Paratici is handling it.

Sounds pretty logical. We've bought in key players to strengthen the squad. Now we have a sizable number of senior players surplus to requirements. There was going to be a period where we prioritise outgoings for a while.

The main of the transfer market has been pretty slow and I'm not sure we've seen those transfers that then kick the market off

To think.. We actually have a plan for once during the transfer window. Get the bulk of the signings done early. Then shift out the ones we don't want anymore. Then sprinkle off with some bonus additions at the end. What's not to like about our approach these days.

Totally. I think it's been extremely sensible, and I'm not surprised by anything Dragon has written. It's just really good planning.

But I 100% guarantee you that, if we don't get anyone else (which may be the right long term call), you'll get a load of moaners.

I also think the work done in January can (kind of) be considered as part of this window as well - when you add them, you realise that basically every unit of the team has been either strengthened, or even totally revamped.

Impressive work

Definitely.
I think most of us agreed that the only top players we had starting last Summer were Son, Kane, Romero, and Lloris.
It looks like Conte agreed as we have now bought someone for every other position except for Dier (although that may change later in the window) in the calendar year since then.
Also worth remembering we re-signed Son and Hugo during that period.
