Hopefully illarramendi is sick of being a bit part player at Madrid, and wants to be the main man at his next club.

I'd say that's probably why we even stand a chance at this point.

True, any player even considering Liverpool would have to ask themselves do they;

1) have the 'character'
2) can they play in a team that apparently won't be able to replace the quality of Suarez for at least 3 decades
3) could they play alongside Emre Can, who by all accounts 'Can't'
4) can they stomach having their Panamera up on bricks every other day

If anything works in our favour, it's that Madrid still owe us money for both Modric and Bale. Could drive the asking price down a fair bit and free up some additional wage space for him if necessary.
