That will tie in to what I've heard FDB not been ruled out.
More will come to light when Ajax get back from Asia this w/e.

I think Soldado suffered due to us playing inverted wingers first half of the season - he's one of the best finishers in the world. we sign him and then don't supply him with crosses....
By the time Tim got in, his head had already dropped.
Then Eriksen was on the left - not many byline crosses again.
Lennon with some wayward crossing again.

Chadli is quite a big unit - I wouldn't mind seeing him up top with eriksen behind him in a decent friendly match.

Does he say/make clear wether it's him that's "a bit concerned" or the club? If it's the club then can someone sling it into the RO (i'm off for a spot of dinner) if it's him then we'll leave it as it's his own onion. Ta.
i was wondering that too..

Still ignoring Benitez then. Big mistake.

You know on the surface i would agree simply because of Rafa's CV.

But, given Rafa's history of falling out with owners/boards over spending habits amongst other things and this actually feels like a situation where Levy/Baldini are for once fully aware that they wouldn't work well with the manager and the end result would again be a media shitstorm.

I actually really like Rafa, but if we signed him i think it would be a very short term solution.

Those two qualities, style of play (spurs way/not AVB) and building a dynasty must be quite high up DL's list.

The latter was the big plan for AVB I'm sure. Which worked out well.

Plus they've all suffered injuries with Lamela and Capoue missing over 50% of the season.

Capoue, Paulinho and Eriksen in a midfield 3 with the right coaching = a mouth watering prospect.

Chadli has done well when played in the right position.

Chiriches has looked bright in spells, and I think he'll flourish when our midfield starts closing down again.

Soldado is the only one who's failed to live up to the hype but there's a number of reasons for this - new league, new team mates, lack of service for huge chunks of the season, obvious poor handling by AVB and Dimwood, plus his wife has recently had a baby. I would like to see how he does next season, that's if we can/decide to keep him.

soldado's wife suffered from miscarriage, been hard for him to take care of the family in this whole new environment, esp when his english is not much better than lamela.

Rafa = cup success and getting us back to top 4 challengers soon, but like you said could end in 2-3 years based on history.
Poch/FDB = the supposed project/legacy/fancy term, would only work if fans and board lower expectations initially, accept instant success is highly unlikely and it's about restructuring the club, getting stability and looking at long term future.
Left field levy special = fuck knows...

And you know this how ?

TBF to YankSpurs, I doubt very much they're still matey, doubt, on a business level, you would ever contemplate severing that kind of relationship, which I gather is what you and others were on about. He did say this (re Levy)

He told Spanish television show La Sexta: "The deal never fell apart, but it came close on several occasions. It wasn't all peace and love in the meetings. They were tough and problematic."

He admitted that his friendship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been damaged, perhaps irrepairably.

"I hope that we remain friends, but I'm not sure. He's a tough negotiator, but fair."

part of me thinks that if it is defo going to be Poch our approach to Saints would be out in the open by now

Think Levy is waiting to speak to Frankie De Boa

Then he will sit, have a think, have a scratch then make the 'official' approach to the club

the other part of me wants KFC tonight

:)

Interesting article in the Guardian about Pochettino. I thought this part was interesting:
"Our style of play is to win back the ball as soon as possible and then play it," he explained. "We moved forward our lines and play more upfield. When we lose the ball we must have the mentality of winning it back as soon as possible. It may seem like we are running more but really we are just running in a more organised way."

Apologies if this isnt the correct place to post it ;)

So basically, it sounds like he and Frank are very similar with only minor differences

Levy's reign suggests that any appointment will be for only two-three years

Had it not been for the progress we've seen during Levy's reign, finishing 6th would've been fantastic.

Just because he hasn't been mentioned by an ITK other than AtlantaYid doesn't mean we haven't sounded him out. But why would he be interested?

Proximity. Because, he and Jose are meant to be. It's a love that is wrought with complications, but deep down they are meant to be be. And much like Brad and Angelina combine to become Brangelina, they will be called Fat Iberian Wanker.
