So we're signing Adebayor. And we're not even buying him, it's a loan deal. Brilliant.

What an absolute fu&*ing nightmare this summer has been...

That's not a nightmare mate. There are pros and cons to this. The pro is we get to see if he is the right player for us. And we get to save our money to spend on someone else. The Con? If he plays really well for us, his value will go up.

I reckon Villareal might be holding out until the last day so they can get a few goals out of Rossi in the CL qualifiers.

Why do people keep posting this rubbish? Its not like he is on a free or has been offered in a straight swap for Crouch. Harry simply thinks he isnt worth £20m+!

I need a new car and mine isnt as nice as a porsche, but am i going to go out and spend all my money on 1? No im not because i dont think its worth it - i would rather spend my money on a car that is better value for money and put the rest of the money to other use.

It's not Harrys prerogative to worry about price, it's Levys. If levy is willing to pay what it takes to get Llorente then Harrys only concern should be how to impress Llorente when they next meet, because Llorente is a huge upgrade on what we have. The info didn't say 'Harry thinks he's overpriced' or 'Harry doesn't think he'd fit in'. The info said Harry is not impressed, so I stand by what I said. If Harry, or anyone else, manages to be unimpressed by Llorente as a target man who leads the line the quite frankly they do not deserve the pleasure of watching football.

Agreed, especially in view of FFP - we don't have the problem of shifting him on if it doesn't work out. Could well give us time to fill a few gaps with up-coming young prospects like Kane and Oby-somethingorother......(hopefully optimistic there!)

Assuming Blue is Adebayor, I think he would galvanise us. Aside from the fact he can actually get goals, his presence, hold up play and ability would give confidence to our midfielders and improve their performances too. Attitude aside, I think he's almost the ideal front man to come in to our system. My only concern is that he'll do a Mido and look good for 6 months or so and then be trouble.

I reckon that's exactly what will happen with him,it's all about him and he couldn't care less about the team.
That's why I hope we don't get him and the money he wants is ludicrous.

With him, I feel he wants to be top dog. He will be if our strikers remain the same and only he joins. If Rossi joins, then you will find this happening after a while.

But if its only a loan, the worst that can happen is we get an upgraded striker for the first 6 months of the season, not ideal but i would take that at the moment.

Come on funky friday... Be good to us. I keep staring at my phone waiting for a text from 88442 stating we've signed that top star we've all been waiting for.

How do you know it isn't a loan with a view to a move?

So even if this deal comes off and we get a striker that improves us (at least in the short term) you're still unhappy.

I hate people sometimes. Hate.

Adebayor and Llorente are pretty similar type and calibre. Rossi is so different you can't even compare him really.

Ben's info basically means our options have dropped down from 3 to 2 because Redknapp doesn't fancy the affordable one.

If you'd bothered to pay attention, you'd know that it's been posted that Bilbao's chairman doesn't want to piss off the fans by selling off their star striker, and will only do so if the €36m buy-out clause is triggered. How this makes Llorente 'the affordable one' isn't entirely clear. Perhaps you could elucidate.

I just love the way people are treating two completely contradictory snippets from BEN (whose record of getting things right in recent seasons has been about as good as his English) as gospel.

I'd be worried if there was a clause whereby City could recall Adebayor, though I'm not sure how this would work with the 25 man squad rule. That said, I'm still not sure we'll get him.

If we pass up the opportunity of Llorente (bad move IMO) and end up with no one there'll be a riot... Oh.
