Some stuff on Sneijder - please note, this guy is not wholly reliable!

@tancredipalmeri: If I didn't tweet Sneijder's agent words on agree going on with Galatasary it is because they weren't reliable. And in fact the agent denied

@tancredipalmeri: According to Mediaset, the english club from which Sneijder is waiting for a bid is Liverpool

This suggests that (a) he is still on the market and (b) that he is not necessarily looking for CL footie anytime soon!

The Italian media is like a pantomime, Palmeri gets excited and repeats everything he hears or is told. Sneijder's agent is Soren Lerby, former Ajax player, he is pushing his client's name everywhere. Especially to places he knows it will get repeated! That includes Tancredi and his links to the English media.

Inter have made it clear that Sneijder isn't part of their plans. No one *really* wants to go to Galatasaray. It is a high-paying graveyard for top European players.

If Liverpool did go for him they'd be getting an expensive name and not necessarily the player they think. No doubt Sneijder is a class act when he is on form but he's on huuuuuuge wages and often injured.

If we get Holtby this month, where does that leave Siggi? We also have Dempsey... I would really like to see Siggi used more behind a lone striker. He hasn't really had a chance yet IMO.

I wouldn't think Holtby woud be ahead of Siggy this year. He will need time to adjust to the league and gel with the team. Whereas siggy is a proven PL player. If Holtby would come in this year I believe he would be limited to substitute appearances/ cup games till end of this season and push for first team next year when he's had a full pre-season with the team.

Depends. Siggy wasn't an AVB buy

and who is to say that Holtby is?

I'm not trying to start Saturday by arguing, G, but what with Andre being head coach rather than manager and we're constantly drip fed info regarding a "transfer committee" it could very well be (and seems quite likely to myself) that Holtby vould be another one that Andre would be happy to have in the squad, Dan really likes - cos 'ees free - and that has much potential.

But the boss wants Moutinho.

As it sounds like Holtby would have to be done with time to spare to allow Schalke to get a replacement, it at least means that hopefully the Mout business will be finished either way before deadline day!
