It's a lot easier when you have multiple targets to choose from and they are both gettable and affordable.

I have to say I'm happily surprised how JM has adapted to the budget and situation. No fuss, just straight in with his targets.

Mourinho kind of showed this pragmatism in his Inter role. While he got some of his wishes in transfer market, he settled on some not so house hold names and eventually helped Inter win European trophy after decades.

Jose is more pragmatic than most managers - but media & fans just paint him with same brush as a money-manager than a man-manager. IMO, I can see the hunger in Jose and wanting to prove his doubters wrong again.

Herc and Breezer getting their arms oiled up like Adama Traore ready to brawl.

In all seriousness continues to show we’re moving fast and trying to get business done early. Even if it’s not Zaha, we’re active!

To say we’ve enquired about Zaha is an understatement.

Didn't Zaha say last year that he would only be prepared to move to a club that's in the CL?

Obviously things might have changed since then, depends how bad he wants to get out

He’d take Europa over staying at palace for another season

Seems like we might be doing some pretty sly business this window. Really chuffed about PEH coming in and Wilson will be a great back up to Kane should he come. Skipp to Fulham seems like a really good thing, having him learn a trick or two from Parker and get some game time in the PL.

If we can get a good RB and a bit more creativity in midfield/attack we could be heading in to the season looking very strong.

Zaha will definitely move this season , even Roy alluded to it end of the season. Zaha more or less made sure he doesnt want to give his all with a stinker of a season. So, no way, Palace can get what they want...

Palace will have to settle for much lower fee. As for as us, I still dont get why he should be our target - especially with us getting Bergwijn in winter window.

If he really does want to leave, and it is quite feasible that he does, I can well imagine Zaha making a fight of it this year and kicking up a real fuss if he isn't released. If that is the case that might be why there are conflicting sources this time.

I'm not going to get into a debate but he bought pretty much everyone he got in Inter were household names in Italy at least (Pandev, Milito, Thiago Motta were all big names). But Inter were a money team and were very big at the time, we are not at that level and it's good Jose is seems to be willing to stick to a budget.

I think this all comes own to football philosophy really. Poch was a purist, so only wanted players that fit into that template, while Jose is a pragmatist.

This was given to me today. We’ll see... probably a battle of what we’re willing to pay and what Zaha and crew willing to accept. However this time seems a little different.
I wouldn't be surprised if both us and zaha are keen but there's a third party in the matter that has the say and they'll want a fee very few clubs can afford now thanks to COVID. Here's hoping

I'm not. Not consistent enough either in end product or application. Don't see who Zaha replaces.

If PEH and Wilson go for the quoted prices they will be more than covered by fringe players going.
Would probably take Palace dropping to 30 to 40 million but another player in means one going so might reduce the hit.

As much as I like Moura and Lamela they don't have the same threat as Zaha and he would be the final part in the attacking jigsaw.

I also suspect Levy may be willing to back his man to a certain extent if Jose really pushed for a key player.

Some good, positive itk today.
Have to say that I'm liking the way the window is looking so far. OK, I know we haven't signed anyone yet but things appear to be good, with Jose having positive targets (within budget) and the club being active in chasing them.
Possibly the most positive I've felt about a window for a while.
