A front 3 of Zaha, Kane and Son would instantly rival City, Pool, Chelsea, etc

If we are serious about challenging, then Zaha is the type of signing we should be making.

I’m not a big fan of Zaha, personally. I know he doesn’t play for a side full of quality, but he doesn’t really strike me as the amazing talent some make him out to be. A great dribbler, yes, but one that still remains very inconsistent at 27. For me, I’d much rather put the money elsewhere and proceed with Bergwijn who looked really good on the right at times with Kane (and Son on the back post) feeding on his service.

You're telling me that a midfield of Lo Celso, Hojbjerg and Ndombele/Winks wouldn't have a field day trying to slot balls through to those 3?

Regarding Bergwijn he's still quite raw, Zaha already is one of the best wingers in the league and can even play up top in a 2.

I always get the impression Zaha plays with his head down and just tries to run it into the net. I really like the look of Benrahma who Hercules mentioned as real interest he dribbles has pace and tricks but also plays with his head up and looks for a pass. He can also take corners freekicks (so we don't have to see kane blast it at the wall) and would cost a fraction of the price. I think he's a better option allround.

All eyes on Bournemouth - All eyes on Brooks.

I'm not sure Kane and Wilson would be a very fluid partnership, especially trying to fit Son in also. Wilson as a bench back up or alternative rest option sure. But can't see Harry and Callum would gel.

Suggesting it will be a player to play with Kane has got to slant towards Brooks. A clever new 10. Eriksen sequel replacement.

Bournemouth has 2 players that would make a ton of sense (Wilson + Brooks) if we shift Lamela. Really hope that what Herc is alluding to.

With him saying one is very good and the other is interesting to me implies Wilson or Brooks and someone we haven’t thought of.

Bloody hell this has been some day for ITK. We havnt had this much in a day, apart from last day of transfer windows, for a long time.

Interesting the difference in opinion re zaha, shows how reliable sources get different info and is a small insight into why most players linked with a club never sign.

Some good, positive itk today.
Have to say that I'm liking the way the window is looking so far. OK, I know we haven't signed anyone yet but things appear to be good, with Jose having positive targets (within budget) and the club being active in chasing them.
Possibly the most positive I've felt about a window for a while.
Yeah, that never happens at the beginning of a transfer window...

It's not so much the information per se, it's more about the way things are happening.
We're being linked with likely options, as opposed to pipe dreams.

No, you're right, it's good to hear a unanimous positivity, with realistic targets.

While there is no doubt about Zaha’s talent there are many doubt about his mental and emotional fortitude. Too many times he’s put off his game by a hard tackle or two or some wind up comments. A top player doesn’t allow the opposition to get to him. Compare him to Hazard or Grealish. Both were among the most tackled but they just pick themselves up and get on with it whereas Zaha spends an eternity whining about it which means he’s not focused on the task at hand.
Beside Brooks Lewis Cook at Bournemouth might be the other player we’re interested in. We apparently had some interest in the past.

There is definitely a different feel this summer, no pipe dream links, just smart additions that improve the functionality and balance of our squad. Despite the new post Covid world, we seem to be trying to get about our business early.
Interesting Trix’s and Herc’s comments about Mourinho being very clear and pragmatic with his requirememts. Maybe that approach is enough to grab Levy’s attention for once given Jose’s past success. If he’s saying with some subtly astute signings he can move us on without world beaters, just with better/more options, then happy days.

As someone who loved Poch and was not a fan of Mourinho to start, this change in how business is being done (if true) would either indicate that Levy changed his spots, Levy was forced to negotiate creatively with the only acceptable targets that Poch wanted, or a bit of both. I'm skeptically optimistic with this window.

Does feel like Palace are resigned to losing Zaha this window. There were even rumours of a loan deal to arsenal being floated last week. Maybe there could be something creative that pops up later in the window if no other team offers big money. I personally think he could do very well in a team where he isn't the only threat.

As for Trix's comments about Jose that is great to hear. A lot of people doubted he would do that after Man Utd especially but it is good to see. Seemed like he was quite happy with his targets overall at the end of the season when asked.
The early ITK from Dragon and Hercules I think, did place a fair bit of emphasis on loans, we're obviously loaning younger players out so maybe we're open to them the other way.

Have felt for a couple of years now that matt law is the only mainstream journo getting proper info from within THFC.
