Good work from the bowlers. But feel Pakistan have too many already.

If the top 6 average Buttler's first innings score, that's 228, and we're currently 244 behind. A bit of application, with 2 days to play, it should be gettable.

But you're right. We'll collapse in a heap.

The pitch is perfect for Pakistan. Suits both their seamers and spinners.

The top 4 somehow have to muster 180/200 to give us a chance I think. Or some kind of Stokes miracle. And that's dependant on knocking over the final couple of wickets for no more than another 20 or so.

Fingers crossed.

Edit: Well that went as well as could be expected. We're screwed.

Time for Root to stand up now and play a captains innings. Might be slightly harsh on him but can’t remember him doing this during his time as captain when on the many occasions we have been in this situation.

This, you feel, as Root & Stokes come together, is the stand that matters.

Root will never, and has never, had the gut for a fight.

I’d forgive him if he gets out in these situations from excellent deliveries but it’s very often him being bowled or swinging at wide balls.

Mentally weak and obscenely overrated.

To put him in the same bracket as Kohli, Smith and Williamson is an insult to the ability of those three players.

It says an awful lot when people can disagree with an opinion but offer absolutely no opinion of their own or any kind of facts to discredit the opinion their disagreeing with ??

When I read something as patently incorrect as that, and with no evidence whatsoever to back it up, I am not going to waste my time collecting statistics. Look it up in Wisden.

But it's boring with you, you're a silly football hooligan who talks absolute rubbish about cricket. I still think you and @Spurrific have a side bet going on.

As for Root, in Nov last year he got 200 odd against New Zealand after they'd scored 400 in the first innings, probably saved that game. Same year, 100 against West Indies to set up a win away from home, 2018, ton in Sri Lanka (probably one of his best) to again set up a victory.

As for this nonsense about him not being in the same league as Kohli, Williamson etc, his conversion rate isn't as good but he has more scores of 50+ in Test matches than any of them including Steve Smith.

So please, bugger off.

Hahaha. “You are so wrong but I can’t be bothered to prove that you are wrong.” Ok mate.

Is Wisden going to tell me how many times Joe Root has saved a test match for England?

Jesus, the new batsmen wont enjoy watching that ball.

Cant believe Root put that landmine in the pitch.
