Didn’t expect 280 early on, though 250 would have been the best result but 280 gives us something to work with. Need a couple quick wickets now.

The pitch is certainly doing more than it was, but I do worry how many overs Ali has in those fingers.

Do we just get quick runs for the sake of quick runs under bazball?

We've just given them a good amount of time in today's sunshine when tomorrow should be cloudy. But then we could lose time to weather tomorrow so who knows....

Not sure if you’ve seen the Aussie documentary on Amazon Prime but he’s a proper oddball. Harmless enough but proper weird.
Spent a season with him when he was our overseas pro at Plymouth CC. Barely knew the guy, not even speaking terms tbh, but the boy practiced his ass off, even taking catches while sitting in a chair in the bar on the beers! He was as excitable while in the nets bowling as anyone I've ever met; every ball was an event!
We knew he was special...but not top 5 batsmen in world cricket-special!

I'm not sure this is the right way of looking at it. The problem is most players now are geared to the short format and it's going to go more and more this way because it's where the money is. I think the idea behind Bazball(hate calling it that) is that we are playing to a tempo more suited to the players. Keep the runs ticking over rather than block for an over. I think that's why it's been pretty successful up to now.

I get the whole Bazball approach and taking it to the opposition early when the field is more attacking makes perfect sense to me, what i don't understand is why we continue in that vain when they have pushed everyone back to the fence and there are easy singles going? Surely you milk them and then go on the offensive again when a few are brought back up to try and stem the flow of 1s and 2s?

Feel we've left a fair few runs out there but think we're favourites to win as think it will be easier to pick up 10 wickets than get 281 before the weather gets involved!

The bowlers eeked out some important runs there. Another 20 or 30 and that would have been a proper formidable total. No idea where we could have found that amount of runs over the last four days though :whistle:

Let's get into them now and get the crowd going!

No doubting his ability with a bat. He’s an incredibly talented batter. Love watching him play. The weirdest ones are usually the best. Smith is another weird bloke but amazing player.
KP being the exception. Utter tosser of a bloke but incredibly talented.

Love these odd little stats...;

How's that?!

This is only the fifth time in Test history that 10 players have made it to double figures without a single half-century in the innings.

Well, that's quite an expensive first over.

Should Bairstow be reacting a hell of a lot better for that? (or at all....)
