This will be a tight one. They will sit deep and hit us on the counter attack. Need players to get beyond their back 4 to have a chance of winning this. Nice possession football in front of them will be music to their ears, so have to be more creative and cynical when opportunities are presented

No point in starting Janssen against Huth and Morgan. He's the exact type of player they love playing against. Whereas a nippy player like Son will make them uncomfortable.

Lloris/ Walker, CCV/Dier, Verts, Rose,Back four with Wanyama in front, Dembele/Winks ahead
Eriksen, Alli and Son swarming around Janssen.
'swarming' is the latest tactical buzzword. (Sorry)
Poor old Janssen will die of neglect and starvation if we're not careful.

I guess you meant clinical, although cynical may work just as well ! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

If Janssen is going to start up front then we need to be getting more crosses in the box, which Son can give from the left and GKD from the right, as well as both full backs of course, with Alli and Eriksen behind Janssen. I don't expect GKD to start though and think Poch will go with Lamela, which he views as the safe option because he knows he can trust him to with defensive duties and to keep the team shape.

Like this but see Dier in place of CCV just because I still think Poch is weary of big games for youngsters. I would give the kid a chance cause I like him and Dier needs to sort his play out.

The only think about your lineup I want changed is Dembele up the pitch more. If he sits next to Vic and Winks we are going to see a repeat of the Liverpool, WBA, and Bayer game. We will have a congested middle of the park and slow build up due to Dembele's play. Plus Vic has looked a shadow of himself when someone is sitting next to him. He needs space to operate.

More like players running off Janssen and exchanging with his back up play.

Janssen reminds me Mark Hughes... I reckon he'll be a scorer of great goals.

not if you get it into his feet, because compared to Son he can hold them off and bring others into the game.

as i mentioned in my team selection, they struggle with low and hard passes at corners into the box

As others have said, I don't see how Janssen vs their CBs will work. It will be easy for them. Put Son in for that reason.

Lloris
Walker - Toby - Verts - Rose
Wanyama
Dembele - Alli
Lamela --------------------------- Eriksen
Son

Lloris
Walker Toby verts rose
Dembele Wanyama
Lamela Dele Son
Janssen

Janssen can occupy those two thugs leaving space for Son to exploit. Eriksen has been woeful, wishful thinking on my part that he will be left out

But then we can never knock it long because he won't win one header. From goal kicks it really will invite pressure onto our back four every time. If we go down that route you can guarentee there will be 3/4 heart in mouth moments between Lloris, Dier and Vertonghen.

Attacking wise (see my post on page 1) we need both Son and Janssen on the pitch. By all means revert to your idea later in the game if/when we need too.

Don't you think Son would get bullied physically by Huth and Morgan? Leicester play a deep line so their won't be space to run into either.

Worried about this, our results have followed those of last season (bar Bournemouth) and I could definitely see a narrow defeat...especially as we're currently offering little goal threat. Hopefully Son will be fit and ready to go as I really can't see Janssen getting any joy against huth or morgan.

I actually think with the new rules against holding and pulling in the box Janssen will have a field day against Huth and Morgan. He's a pain in the arse for defenders, and I think his strength could completely flummox the CB's who rely on their power.

The reason we cannot break down teams is because Eriksen and Lamela have hit an awful run of form and keep playing in front of the defence. We can either keep playing them and hope they get the mojo back or reshuffle the front line. I think we should do the latter.

Leicester are going to sit back and let us have all of the ball so playing Eriksen and Lamela who won't try to run behind them would be a waste of time in my opinion. I think we need to play runners. Even after N'Koudou's less than impressive game against Liverpool, he, Son and Alli are the only attacking mids we have who look to get past a man or run in behind.

In this game, we need to take a risk and go with the usual back line with Wanyama holding and:

--------------Dembele - Alli--------------
N'Koudou ------------------------- Son
------------------ Janssen----------------

This would give Janssen options to lay the ball off if he is holding it up. Admittedly, Leicester sit so deep into their own half, so running behind will be difficult, but based on our previous performances, if we play in front of them the only real threat we can offer are the 20/30 yard shots which our out of form attacking players are no longer doing.

EDIT: Just remembered Lamela had a 30 yard shot and hit the post the other week against Bournemouth :banghead:
