based on form and availability, logic would suggest 4 changes, being Davies (or Jan) for Rose, Foyth for Aurier, Ndombele for Winks and Lamela for Eriksen but for reasons that are becoming increasingly unclear id guess we probably only get 2 of those.

This is the most pointless thread in history. Eriksen Aurier blah blah blah.

What has Toby done to deserve dropping? He played really well today.

Now now....we lost so Toby must have been shit..

Toby had a decent game, and to be fair the defence wasn't our main problem yesterday........

Eriksen, Dele and Poch's tactics take centre stage.

I was surprised by the team selection for Liverpool so I have no idea what Poch is going to do.

Rose is suspended, thank goodness, so beyond that I just want to see Ndombele start alongside Sissoko and that's it. Everything else can figure itself out.

This is a big game though. We won 6-2 away here last year and Everton are low on confidence and doing even worse than us in the league. Go there and lose and that will be that for Poch, IMO. Go there and win and we then have a potentially winnable run of games for Poch to save himself. Hopefully Sess and GLC will start coming into the team more and more and we can turn this ship around.

Honestly losing faith in the manager and this sorry lot. Everton are dogshit but so are we. In an ideal world I would like Pochettino gone this week and a fresh new manager to come in like Allegri. New manager bounce with a win and we move on with a fresh face in charge.

What has Toby done to deserve dropping? He played really well today.

Not so much deserving of dropping per se, but I felt Sanchez was as good, hes our only quick centre back, he’s also the future, and he’s better on the right than the left. Then regarding the bench, Dier covers midfield and defence so I’d rather have him to release as many bench options as possible for potential game changes.

you might disagree but the logic is there.(y)

this, with maybe alderweireld over jan. at this point they both seem disruptive together but I’d argue toby has been better this season

Please see above :)

Like this a lot.

Maybe KWP on the bench to have a real RB on the bench if Foyth is struggling but Kyle will be to busy being the mascot.
Could agree with Dele as 2nd striker behind Kane as well and put Gio on the right.

I just feel that right now we need to give Lo Celso an opportunity, and given that he’s best in the middle, that’s the way to go. I love Dele but he’s not at his best, we can work out getting him in at a later point.

Love a passive aggressive barb.

not that I need to justify my preferences, but please see my reply to Shaun if at all interested (I wouldn’t be).

I wouldn't mind seeing Dele stay in the lineup, I know he was anonymous yesterday but he wasn't helped by the way we were setup. Would quite like the same lineup as we played against Red Star, perhaps Lo Celso in for Lamela, we had some great attacking interplay that match and hopefully we should get a lot more time on the ball/space than we did yesterday. I'm not sure about Lucas starting, he and Kane never seem to play well together, and if we remember last season at Goodison DESK were great together so hopefully Lo Celso can just perform the same role as Eriksen did.

Gazzaniga
Aurier - Sanchez - Vertonghen - Davies
Ndombele - Sissoko
Dele - Lo Celso - Son
Kane

Perfect line up but Poch doesn't do perfect
Long term I’d like to see Dier make that Sissoko position his own, at his best he’s a better defender and better passer, but this relies on Dier getting back to that level. As it stands Sissoko deserves the spot.

Totally agree, I guess the only difference is that if we can beat Everton and also Red Star away (with no fans) then we might have started to figure out what we're doing, built some momentum and also managed to settle on a system. Wishful thinking though probably.

Everton are terrible. The right team selection should see us winning by 2 goals

Remember that board game Guess Who? That's what it feels like trying to predict our lineups nowadays.
