We are 100% winning this one to help Arsenal towards their fight for the title. It’s what we do. Don’t turn up against Arsenal and then play like prime Barca v City and then lose to Fulham.
Absolutely this. I was speaking to a very happy Arsenal supporting friend earlier today. We lose and we are in the shit. We take any points off City and the Goons are laughing their way to the league.

I couldn’t really give a fuck if it helps them now. I’ve already accepted they’re gonna win it. I just want to see us put in a good performance for what would feel like the first time in months.

I hope Bentancur is up to speed and ready for an impossible challenge.

Looks like we are going as strong as we can defensively to start with.

My prediction & Wish :

2-3 loss at Ethihad
3-2 loss at Lane

Son & Kane scoring doubles in the 2 game

Deciding goal is the injury time winners for City and help boost their confidence
Hopefully this confidence boosting Dr Tottenham results can help them defend their title against Le Arse.

If we somehow win one or both city games, then kudos to the team. May be there is still some hope left in these players...

If we continue with 3-4-3 in this game we will get smashed. This system is only possible toplay well if you have twotop class wing backs and center backs who are quick and good on the ball, and we dont have the players of that quality.

The team that i would pick but Conte wont would be 4-3-2-1

Lloris ( no other choice but not happy)

Emerson( would rather have Spence but unfair to pitch him in for this game ) Romero Dier or Lenglet Davies

Sarr PEH Bentacur

Kulu Kane

Richie

Not over keen on PEH on current form but Bissouma isnt inspiring me at the moment either

Hate dropping Son but must on current form and Richie deserves a chance toplay upfront

The defence isnt inspiring but solid enough and the midfield is athletic with Sarr in it and creative with Bentacur

That team wouldnt get slaughtered thats for sure

Is it just me but how come teams always seem to have their star players 1st game back from injury against us.
Talk about Dias being back after being injured for ages.

This might be the only game of the league season where it might be ok to play the boring low block with 5 at the back and try to be effective with counter punches. It'll be interesting to see if we arrive here pre-beaten, or surprise as we did last season (and frankly, as we did with the 4-0 against Palace).

Being outnumbered in midfield is a given, meaning so much depends on Son and Kulusevski to provide an outlet. It's worked before and is about the only glimmer I can see for this one. But a hammering seems more likely because our poor first half passivity should mean this is over by half time.

Line ups and formation suggestions are interesting to see, but the lack of variation from Conte makes it moot. People argue for 3-5-2 rather than 3-4-3, but in reality it's 5 at the back....in an era when everyone plays only one out-and-out striker, or none!

It will be bloody 3-4-3 again, but below is what I want to see:

Lloris
Royal - Romero - Lenglet - Davies
Bissouma
Sarr - Bentancur
Deki - Kane - Richy

I think we have to avoid conceding the middle of the park so readily from the outset and that playing Kulusevski more centrally in the first half at least could help with that:

————————Lloris
————Romero—Dier—Lenglet
Doherty—Bentancur—Hojbjerg—Perisic
———————Kulusevski
—————Kane———Richarlison

Time to bench Son again also.
Very much so.
