I am going to have nice thoughts today and begin my team selection v City with Pope in goal and a back three of Romero , Skinniar and Bastoni. All of which were achievable.

All of which were achievable if a true desire for on field success rather than property portfolio enhancements was first and foremost in the wee Bald bollocks brain.
Inter would sell us two of their starting centre-backs in January? Newcastle would sell Pope less than a year after signing him? All achievable?

Bentacur starts!!!

Outfield ten..

Royal Romero Dier Davies persic..
Hojbjerg Bentacur
Kulu kane son..

Antonio yet to decide on keeper.

But been told Hugo is in grave danger of chop.. very grave.

Forster set to start.99%

Good to hear Lloris get the chop.

The backline makes me want to cry.

NO not in January 2023. I said think of nice things, I did not say nice things are going to happen in the next 48 hrs.
Skinniar when Maureen wanted him , Bastoni last summer and Pope last summer.
When they were ALL achievable.

Son could always be relied on to score against B. Dortmund and City. Maybe last dance for him in starting lineup, but I would still start Richarlison or Gil over him.

Lloris
Romero Dier Davies
Kulu Sarr(Benta if he's fit) Bissouma PEH Perisic
Kane Richy

I'd like to see us try and shore up the midfield while not losing that creativity off the right (Have a CM cover that Kulu area), but just would be my go at it for something different haha

Richy just has to play over Son, Son has had one good game and it was coming off the bench and didn’t even equate to a full game. At least with Richy on we’ll have 11 out there.

I'd go with this:

Forster
Romero -- Sanchez -- Lenglet
Spence ------Bentancur------ Perisic
Bissouma ----- Kulusevski
Kane --- Richarlison

Seems like Conte is conceding defeat already:

Oh dear. Just again shows where his focus is. To beat City you need to do what we have done many times and that is attack them. We will make mistakes even more if that is what we are concentrating on. Don't believe me? Than go play golf and concentrate not on your target but on trying to avoid all the water, out of bounds, rough and bunkers. In any sport the prime focus has to be on what to do not what to avoid. Maybe that's why DL: loves the Jose / Conte type of manager who appeals to the accountant in him

Ha good point. Whilst we may be critical of Contes approach occasionally, he has summed it up quite well. If you make ridiculous mistakes and give away goals you simply can't beat the big teams. Other details matter less when you're chucking the ball in your own net.

Personally think it’s time for a change in our approach to the team. And if go with this, what’s the worst that can happen?
