If it is Google, they are a company worth a trillion dollars. Highly doubt they would let us go by the wayside. I do think they’d be far more interested in the redevelopment of the surrounding area than the football, however.
Also doubt they would let us be mediocre, more like the best most popular football club on the planet......to show off their stewardship of course!

If it is google. But I honestly think if it is we would functionally be the same operation namely no investment towards players. Even google has risks though, were they to take a more hands on approach, namely the risk of not understanding the football industry, possibly trying to actively squeeze profits from the club and possibly implementing the largely unsuccessful moneyball approach to football (all though it is getting a little better as statistics become more precise).

Agree with a lot of what has been written.

Although our league position this season is likely to be poor, we are in the grand scheme of things in a good position. Great stadium, Kane, Son, some emerging talent, a lucrative league....

FFP means there is naff all chance someone buys us then spunks a load on Neymar etc. As pointed out previously, getting those commercial deals with Taiwanese nappy brands is probably where we need to be heading. No, really.

The angle would likely be marketing the Google brand while directly making money doing it and also purchasing a lot of high value properties.
I think it's very, very unlikely though and I doubt we'd see a change in the way we do things. If anything there'd be even more pressure on Levy to run the club with profits in mind.

I’m certainly not ITK and the snippets I’ve shared have come through 3rd parties. That rumour is Alphabet/Google takeover with Levy staying on as chairmen and it’s been agreed in principle for a while. They were keen on Jose and Jose knew before he signed that cash was coming eventually.

if you wonder why it’s attractive. We’ve basically built one of the best entertainment stadiums in the world. Think what the o2 has become, the most successful indoor arena globally. Our ground is now a cash cow with the ability to have football and concerts working in tandem in a way other big stadiums like Wembley cannot, removable pitch was a master stoke.

Plus we own so much real estate around the ground and there is a ton of development potential still to come, think how Wembley Way has transformed and you wouldn’t be far off the vision.

NONE of this is direct ITK, just chat that has come my way from people I respect. So passing on it’s pretty interesting, even if ultimately wrong. Herc in the ITK seems to think something is in the wind so appears there is some truth in the general story.

Would be awesome, although if Levy stays as chairman please remove him from buying players! ??

Any ‘rumours’ over your side of the water?

You know that it only last's a little while though until the new guys are upto speed. Why would Levy worth hundreds of millions himself once a sale goes through want to work for somebody else?

Because he's responsible for the rise we have made as a club. I don't think you could buy that kind of experience and knowledge. It may be that Google is purely investing rather than buying out the ENIC group so we may well find ourselves in a situation where ENIC are still majority shareholders but Google are major shareholders.

For us I think it would be immense. Will they be able to invest loadsamoney for buying players? no. But what they could help with is our commercial revenue and exposure. We'd end up being the club with the biggest exposure in the world because we're owned by the group with the biggest communication profile in the world. The revenue that could be generated from that would sling us into another level of spending and then.... we could spend big and comfortably stay within FFP.

The thing is that endless funds like City and Chelsea would not be required . It would take a large outlay to start with and from then you could lay back smoking a cigar . As I understand it we have a hotel and many houses and flats planned to be built plus houses on another large property owned by the club you then have sponsorship for stadium/shirt sleeves / training ground plus we still have parts of the ground not yet in operation all these things are money making but its the initial investment that's required to pay for buildings if someone with real money took the plunge . We would in my eyes be the most profitable club in the world . Of course part of this initial outlay would require the payment of loans and the cost of hotel and housing and so its not going to happen because the initial cost of the club / the loan / the devepments /
Make it a big no no . Beer mat calculations are loan £670mill / Housing hotel costs possibly ££600mill and then Enic would want possibly 2 billion to sell making a total 3billoin . If some uber rich bugger was to take the plunge at least he would not need to fund this club every year after purchase as Levy has set up a money making machine . WE can only dream.

I have limited knowledge of North American sports and club valuations there but it's not unusual for TV networks / cell companies / other institutions from acquiring clubs to own TV rights to be rebroadcast on their platforms. With football TV rights ballooning over the previous years this might be a broadcasting play for the likes of Google or Amazon?
