No argument here. Just a bit surprised that more hasn't been made of the kidnapping thing in addition. That's a fairly mahoosive crime. Or maybe it has but the papers know any hint of PIV sells copy like nothing else and have not bothered to cover that aspect much. I had no idea he'd taken her across borders etc.
Well it's seems it he was sentenced for child abduction rather than kidnapping, still pretty big crime...

A sorry tale.

To be fair, he was an adult who took a child to another country without the wishes of her parents - kidnapping.

Not certain, but I don't think it's kidnapping. He didn't bundle her in the back of a van and drive her away.
She went home, got her passport and CHOSE to go with him.

You go up to a child in street and tell them you'll take them to Disney World and buy them all the toys they want when you get there, and they say they want to come with you...

Wouldn't be child abduction then?

Never any excuse in these situations in my opinion.

I wasnt excusing him was just saying...Anyway, what I was trying to get at in this thread that may have been lost. Is, why do the WAGS walk through the gutter with them? Is it that hard to give up your clothes and handbag allowance for a bit of self respect?

The difference when a teacher is involved is obvious.
The teacher is in a position of trust and has undergone never ending child protection training and the LAW implications!!

Not only that, but the law is extended to the age of 18 when the adult holds a position of trust.
