Heard a rumour similar to this back in Jan and it seemed to make sense, the last thing Pompey needed was anothr CM after all! Have been really impressed with Diarra since he went to Pompey and woud like him at the Lane.....

The news about Berba is also pretty good!!!!!!

if this was true, we'd get so fucked for fiddling transfers.

Diarra could be anoter Makelele though, he is fucking brilliant.

Defensive midfielder in the mould of Makalele. Only got ousted at Chelsea because Mikel is better and he'll turn out to be one of the world's best in that position so that's fair enough.

He has scored a couple for Pompey but I think that's fairly rare for him. His main attributes are defensive and that's what we need in our midfield.

A lot of it was down to Diarra not getting a game and being an understudy to Makelele - it was harming his France chances. At Arsenal he was all set to be a first 11 player, but the Flamini decided to start being a bit good and he couldn't get in there.

Diarra would be perfect for us.

I would love this to be true mostly 'cause of the double crossing wenger, but yes he is exactly the player we need, would love this to happen!!

As long as the code of omerta is in place, it's impossible to prove anything.

And omerta is very strong in football. It's precisely why John Stevens managed to prove collusion between British Army intelligence, the RUC and loyalist terrorists in the Stevens Inquiry, and failed to nick anyone in the football bung inquiry.

Plus the goons deserve it for refusing to let Diarra move to the famous Spurs in the first place...

Without even opening it, I saw the title and thought it'd be something like this...

What I've seen of him at Portsmouth has been friggin impressive!

This would be so funny if it did happen, Wenger will be seething!
Its logical, Pompey always end up signing our squad players so if we scratch there back they scratch ours

Isn't he on some incredible wage. I know Pompey just incurred 23 million pounds in loses mostly due to player wages, and could probably use to dump someone like Diarra and his supposed 90k per week wages, but we won't pay that

He won't be on 90k if he's at pompey, no chance. If they could afford that sort of wage they wouldn't be in an old shed that is Fratton Park.

They are co-owned by one of the richest men in Russia ain't they?

And they won't be at FP much longer, they've announced some swanky new stadium a few months ago! (it looks pretty cool!)

Do you have pictures of the new stadium, there the nearest premiership club to where I live so I have interest, i've always said if Spurs went out of business then pompey would be the team I go and watch.

I still can't see twitcher Harry paying a guy 90k a week though, I know Gaydamak is well off but for 90k a week they could have got someone like Gattuso surely.

Diarra + Capel would be great upgrades in our midfield this summer. I really hope Ramos tries to turn us into either 4-2-3-1 squad or the 4-3-3/4-5-1 we see sometimes. 4-4-2 is just not going to cut it at the top levels I think.

Yeah no way he'd be on 90k a week. L'arse wouldnt have paid him that so no way Pompey would either.

Would be more like 50k tops id say.

If we can get him in, do it. He'd only cost us 6-7mill too which is a bargain for a ealry 20s french intl!

Do remeber that as soon as Diarra got to Portsmouth he was saying that he didn't really see himself at Portsmouth long term and that he wanted to play at a bigger team. Just left Arsenal because he wanted to get in the French squad for the Euro's. Really wouldn't be surprised if he left them in the Summer, although not necessarily to us
