We've got Dele
Not Alli, Dele
I just don't think I understand
He's still the man
He doesn't like Islam
That's what I read on SC.

Bentaleb could have elected to go back to 42 as felt luckier for him too.

He was shit last year wearing 6 so pusses out and drops back to dumb number (I really don't like players having a number outside of the top 30 if established in squad).

If that's the case it's a bit of a cop out (like when Valencia was given 7 at Man U and after a season weakly went back to 25 as couldn't handle it, or Shaw when he gave up the proper left back number 3 to go back to 23).

Or it could have been taken off him as we're looking to move on.

Bentaleb's Twitter also retained 42 in it all last season even after switching to 6.

Jesus christ man. When has a player ever ditched a 1-11 number for a shite one > 30?

It's obviously been stripped from him. Theres no other logical explanation.

Valencia at United ditched 7 to go back to his old number and still is there.

Either someone coming in and being given 6 or Bentaleb asked to go back imo

25's still a first team number. 42 isnt. Valencia also wasn't being pushed out of the team like Bentaleb is.

Spectacular fall from grace for bentaleb. He was THE man 2 seasons ago. There must be so much more behind the scenes than what we know. Im hoping there is because i wont like poch's style if there isnt.

The more popularized American sports gets with English kids, the less important those "first team" numbers become. Especially as the vast majority of popular ones wore numbers outside of 1-11.

Ok, but Bentaleb clearly fancies #6, hence why he ditched #42 for it last year. Why would he go back unless he's been pushed to? Anyone entertaining the idea that he's the driving force behind this switch is quite frankly delusional as he's clearly being pushed out of the club.

Why? because they have a different and as valid opinion to this change as you do you have to cal them delusional?
None of us know why it is happened, and noone has anything to back up their opinion on this either.

there is nothing clear as to why this change has been made.

There are commercial reasons for picking higher numbers, because you can personalise the brand (e.g King 26, Klinsmann 18). Whereas there is already a long line of 1-11s at the club.

Either Bentaleb has asked to go back to 42, perhaps recognising himself he wasn't up to standard last year, and wishing to go back and earn it again.
Or else Poch has made that decision for him, told him he has to earn the No.6.
The fact it's left empty could be a sign that they're leaving it as bait for him, just as much as it could be left for someone coming in.

Personally don't think we'll buy another CM, probably only an AM taking No.17.

Maybe we wanted the number 6 shirt free because we're going to sign Pogba. Did anybody think of that?

Some players are superstitious so he might have chosen to drop down.

Calm down and stop twisting your knickers about dude it was only a suggestion, which I backed up with examples...
