Dunno if it has been mentioned, but Vuskovic got his debut on Polish league after loan transfer on last weekend. His team lost 6-0 away, he got on at 66th minutes when they were 5 down. Sounds like could need a change in defence and Luka might get start next game?

They went down to 10 men in the second(!) minute of the game (was never a red imo) - so I think that is more likely the reason for the poor defensive display.

I think prioritising his long-term development is the right thing to do, though. No point having a B-list eligible or club-trained player who's not good enough because we've messed up their development by keeping them playing U21 football when they've outgrown it.

I think the moral of the story is we can't be relying on players we've signed for our club-trained quota. We have to actually produce them through our own academy as that way they're already club-trained by the time they're 18 or 19 and loans aren't an issue.
That's going a bit too far. If we bring them in during the Summer break at 18, the first two years are a problem for Europe. But year 3 is fine (U21 for domestic and Europe). And by year 4 they are CT/HG. I assume that is the route we will take with Bergvall, Vuskovic - and would also apply to Bardghji, for example, if we were to buy him this Summer.

Yep, should have specified that was for domestic only. That's going to catch a few more players as well e.g. Phillips, Bergvall and Veliz will all be U21 domestically but will have to go into the "senior" squad as either homegrown (Phillips) or overseas (Bergvall, Veliz) in Europe. With Skipp as our only half-decent club-trained senior option our European squad next season could be a bit of a mess, frankly.
It’s for this reason that people wishing for Skipp to be sold are wasting their energy. Obviously won’t be. Likewise why one if not both of Austin and Whiteman will stick around. Who will be the 4th club trained player? Expect Tanganga and Lyons-Foster leaves and others now eligible will be Max Robson and Troy Parrott.

Any chance Pape Sarr counts (he will count as HG in prem from next season but not sure about Club trained or in Europe)

Seems hardly worth bothering about if we are short of one club trained player. Squad of 25 or 24 , sure we will cope. Fill in with under 21. We can have 12 on the bench in europe . Not worth keeping a player whose only use is to be 25th in the squad for Europe.
Man City squad of 24 incl 2 young players who none of us have heard of. Liverpool similar.

That’s awesome. Love to see that and the culture of support from both coaching staff and players with the end goal of each player making it as a pro to the highest level they possibly can. Each player we produce that goes on to have a happy life and fulfilled football career is absolutely a big win for the club.

Works fine if they're getting enough first team football, but as we've seen with Phillips sometimes you need to loan them out and then it doesn't work...
