What about Soonsup-Bell, could he be a viable backup for Johnson at RWF if Deki stays more central?
I like him, he always seems comfortable on the ball and looking to make something happen. He’s obviously not in contention as a starter, but I think there’s something to be said for throwing on a young direct forward late in the game to mix things up. Come Afcon and the Asian Cup, unless we do some business early in the window or get back some of our wounded, Ange is going to have to put some more youngsters on the bench (or fill it with keepers!)

Just an update on former youth striker Reo Griffiths. He's been turning out for a Sunday League team, Critics F.C since his contract with Doncaster was terminated. Doncaster signed Griffiths from Lyon but his attitude was caused him problems in his time there, including returning for pre-season, this summer nowhere near in shape to play football.

I'm guessing that is Elijah Upson? If so then I'm pretty sure he's the son of former Gooner & Spanner Matthew Upson.
That would explain why Upson was at the training ground when I was there a few years back.

What a complete waste of time that loan has been. The club needs to do much better when finding loans for our youngsters.
In fairness, I thought it would be a great loan when they announced it.....just don't know how these lower league clubs seasons are going to turn out.

I'm not sure anyone saw Ipswich as a top of the table challenger.
It's hard to give minutes to someone who isn't club owned when the club are challenging and the club owned players are the reason they are doing so.

Hopefully he will have taken something from it at a personal level, but, yes with our injuries he would probably have had almost as many minutes if he had stayed at Spurs. But you can’t predict these things in advance.

They should have done their homework, but from the little I heard is he is not really impressing as they hoped.

Do we have any good dms in our youth ranks?

None that are approaching first team ready.

Tyrese Hall (18) may be knocking on the door next season if he fills out a bit. Plays the Bissouma role in the U18s. Very technically gifted and intelligent player.

Olusesi is only 16 and more in the Sarr mould. Very talented but still a long way to go.

George Abbott has had injuries and possibly more of a RB now in Ange's system. We'll see.

No idea but about the U16 and below.

Matthew Craig is a DM but his window of opportunity has probably gone. George Abbott is comfortable in DM but I don't think he's anywhere near ready. We don't really have anyone I can think of who looks like being mid-term option in there. Playing that Bissouma role requires a crazy skillset. You've basically got to be able to do it all, and pretty convincingly.

If we are saying that Abbott is nowhere near ready and Craig has missed his window of opportunity that window must be quite narrow, as there’s only two years between them. Worth recalling that Mason made his Premier League debut at 23 after endless injuries and mostly unsuccessful loans.
