What about Soonsup-Bell, could he be a viable backup for Johnson at RWF if Deki stays more central?

Nowhere near good enough. Cannot see him playing for us .
Weve got a very good under 21 team but most of them won’t play for us . They are a team.
its mad isn't it you never really know. Donley and Dorrington are dominating that age group but Ange who does like young players only thinks Donley can handle a few minutes at a time at the moment in the first team and Dorrington hasn't gotten off the bench. Then you see an article online saying Soonsup-bell is the next big thing but we all know he is behind the other two in his development. There is so much hyperbole around young players its easy to see why some of them get complacent and don't fulfil their potential.

Fans get unrealistic expectations too, which feeds the hype.

3 of the Sunderland squad tonight v Leeds in the Championship were playing against us in under 21 game last night. Burstow, the Chelsea loanee, starts.
Pretty good performance in view of that.
