It's nothing to do with his performance, so maybe ask before jumping down my throat.

We have been poor with the ball when trying to play out. We have been struggling to break lines and that's exactly what Lenglet does. Romero is usually the player who does this but with him not playing, Sanchez isn't able to do the same. Therefore, we need someone who can do that. Players can be replaced for tactical reasons sometimes rather than just their performance. If you check my previous posts in this thread, you will see how I spoke about breaking lines etc!
Fair. I just don’t think Davies was poor with distribution or playing out and getting moves going. I think he gets unfairly blamed because we prefer playing out to his side when Sanchez and Royal are on the right; it makes us predictable. I’m unsure Lenglet on his own solves the problem.

Our midfielders are also not the kind who can drive through presses or take the ball on the half turn. I feel Bissouma for Hjojberg would have been a more effective change to address the problem you mention.

Players look leggy - perhaps the 'die but finish' pre-season training has taken a lot out of them. Imagine SC after 45 mins if Jose had been in charge of that first half performance.

I think Ronaldos facial expression said enough about our performance. It looked like he got stitched up for what game to attend.

At least we got the win without playing well but need to be careful of not having too many games no playing well.

7 points from 3 games we got 0 from last season though. I just wish they wouldn't mention being top of the league like it matters.

Great performance, tactics executed perfectly, just need better finishing. Could have been a walloping second half.

Wolves are a forward away from being very, very decent side, so a hard fought 1-0 win is a great result. We were slow coming out, so it’s inevitable that our forwards stopped moving. The ball just wasn’t coming forward with any quality or pace. Richarlison made a big difference with is pace, power and energy, Perisic put in some lovely crosses from tight angles, and PEH did a lot of the ugly stuff as the game went on. Happy days.

While nobody can dispute that Wolves were the better team in the first half today, that game was a great example of where xG tells a story that shots etc don’t. Wolves had 20 shots but only an xG of 0.69, with over half their efforts coming from outside the box.

Thought that once we scored we saw the game out quite well.

Get in there boys. Great win.

Winning after being relatively poor is a positive. Much better second half, much the better team.

I feel a bit sorry for Traore today. He could have been playing for us in the Champions League this season but ended up back at Wolves and has lubed himself up for no reason.
