Yeah exactly, he's yet to show up and prove his worth.

I genuinely can't work out who I'm most disappointed in out of Lo Celso and Ndombele. Ndombele is disappointing because he clearly is hugely talented and if he worked hard he would probably go onto to be one of the best. It's the hope that kills you with him.

Lo Celso is disappointing because again we've been had over buying an Argentinian midfielder who is supposed to be attacking and flair based but really just runs around a bit doing very little of note. If someone asked me "What is Lo Celso good at?" i would really struggle to answer. It's made worse by the impact of losing Eriksen and seeing the perfect replacement at Utd tearing it up.

For me we need to sell both, get as much back as we can and try and find a genuine Eriksen replacement.

I think Bruno fernades is incredibly overrated by people who don't watch him regularly. He's a good player, but the way some go on, I do wander how much they watch United.

Not every player has to be involved with all the play. I think of it like Dele for us when he was producing good numbers, you don't mind the all round play.

Let's face it we would do anything for a midfielder to produce half the numbers he has.

That's fair enough.

If I could pick one game to win out of any in the league this season it's this one. Hope the players see it that way too

I really hope Kane doesn't play and this is a mix of tactical and face value. He's not played any preseason, hardly trained and also I'm not sure what the rest of the squad think of him. He shouldn't get a place just because he turns up.

Also the way city plays they will push really high and I think we need pace on the attack.

God I'm dreading the sky sports build up bullshit, it'll just be 30 minutes of Kane talk.

He would be fitter for this than when the prick started the CL final

I would so love this to be the game where Dane Scarlett is involved and where he comes of age.

Wishful thinking I know but imagine what it would do to his confidence that one game where it all comes together and who better to do it against.

Anyone know how safe it is to go to the match? I am getting the feeling like I should go but my COVID paranoia is kicking in.

Lots of positive talk in here, which is lovely, and I'll be cheering along in the stadium with the rest. However, this will be a really challenging game for us considering that there will have been no changes to the team since last season and this is still the same wretchedly poor defence. Hoping for a narrow 1-0 to us but at the same time it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they put 3 or 4 past us.
Yes defence is a concern and with a couple of weeks to go it's still not sorted

I have no feelings whatsoever either way for this which is a real shame. Usually the first match of the season gives me some sort of excitement but after the last couple of years, our dreadful manager search and subsequent appointment (sorry Nuno but I can’t get any kind of vibe from you) and then the antics of our prodigal son it’s finally defeated me.

I wanted a major rebuild and hoped that we wouldn’t see the likes of Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Sanchez et al wearing our shirt ever again but as sure as night follows day here we are, going in to the new season with every one of the wasters still here and most likely in our starting 11. To dare is too dear.

That's up to you buddy. No one can guarantee safety from Covid, but if you take the necessary precautions, you'll probably be fine

Safe is a relative word. Use your best judgement and protect yourself if you want to do so. If you’re jabbed up, you’re 99.999999% likely to not die. You’re more likely to get killed by a bus on the High Rd.

I'm not really a betting man. The last time I bet on anything was when I put £5 on AVB being our next manager after itk here said it was a done deal :D

But I'm going to start putting £1 on for spurs to win each game this season, so thanks for the heads up. Thats my first 5 games paid up :)
