The manager can only make tentative judgements on a player during training sessions. It's in the real heat of battle their attitude and commitment can be truly assessed. I think one of the more fascinating aspects of this match today will be what our substitutions are and when they are done as the game progresses.

I really hope Kane doesn't play and this is a mix of tactical and face value. He's not played any preseason, hardly trained and also I'm not sure what the rest of the squad think of him. He shouldn't get a place just because he turns up.

Also the way city plays they will push really high and I think we need pace on the attack.

God I'm dreading the sky sports build up bullshit, it'll just be 30 minutes of Kane talk.

Here in the UK, my first game since December 2019, excited and only wish for a decent performance.
Do I wear a mask in the ground, seems like no one has yet in the premier league games?
It's up to you for the mask but nobody did inside and nobody did on the terraces when I went to the arsenal game. Personal choice now

Do what I do then and just switch it on at KO, switch over or mute HT, then switch off at full time. Trust me it makes it much better.

Haha I usually do. I also have alternatives if you know what I mean so listen to other commentator's. I can't stand the sky sports commentator's for the big games. It's a lot of agendas and clickbait style hype

As unlikely as it may be, I want us to win this game as a simple fuck you before they take our talisman.

Then don’t watch it. I almost never watch pre-game build up and I often find something else to do during half time as the narrative-chasing bullshit from Sky adds nothing to my enjoyment of the game. One of the perks of being there is avoiding all that nonsense altogether.

I’ll be watching the cricket until 4:29pm today.

We thinking Lo Celso starts?

Think he's key if we're to win this.

I would much rather have him than Dele personally, but can see him starting on the bench. With no one else other than Skipp adding to our midfield, I don't think anything has changed in that we need either one of Lo Celso or Ndombele in there.

Lots of positive talk in here, which is lovely, and I'll be cheering along in the stadium with the rest. However, this will be a really challenging game for us considering that there will have been no changes to the team since last season and this is still the same wretchedly poor defence. Hoping for a narrow 1-0 to us but at the same time it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they put 3 or 4 past us.

Just want to see Spurs 'want' to win this. No more of the football we played end of last season.
Hope they (ours) give it there all, with a decent result also..

I believe very strongly that Jose's wretched tactics had a lot to do with how poor our defense was. If you sit back and concede possession, territory and momentum you are always going to put your defense under pressure. We could have had prime the back 4 under poch and still struggled.

My main hope is that we are far more aggressive in pressing the ball and not conceding so much territory in our own half. City will dominate possession, but we don't have to just sit there and let it happen.

So much is down to the manager, how he sets them up, how he coaches them and how much he can inspire them.

Let's hope that Nuno can send the boys out in the right way.

Kind of written this one off so anything is a bonus. Be glad when it's finished.

It's going to be the Harry Kane show with a side of football.

Why do you say that out of interest? He's shown me nothing to suggest he's important

I think it's more about the team dynamic when he's present as opposed to individual elements of his game that he really excels in. He will look to get on the ball, spread it wide and play it forward, which is more than most in our midfield. I too think he has a lot of improving to do and think he's very replaceable at least with what's he's shown us so far but I at least feel there's a bit more cohesion when he's playing.
